good questions! outside hardy would be nice in containers too and do not have to be to small plant or flowers I got some small hosta's which were given to me and some small iris's have not flower yet for me just planted them pass fall but leaves are nice and I thought of putting some in containers for the outside took one of the hosta and put it in a container with some ivy but need some other kind of flowers or plants to put in the container and like the look of the one I got so want to try some more in other containers but want them to be hardy so they can stay outside all year round. Thank you both for trying to help me out here! Rita

I love the miniature snapdragons. They also appreciate part sun so would do well with the hosta. They bloom spring and fall so you would have blooms most of the 3 growing seasons.

If any of your hosta are full sun varieties I would suggest some of the miniature celosia. They are such interesting plants. But they are annuals in anything other than zones 9 and 10. Lantana are probably a good height too but again annuals. Primroses would be really pretty with them I think. But then I am really fond of primroses.

miniature snapdragons you can get seeds at burpees. Miniature celosia you can usually get plants at lowes and home depot. Primroses I haven't seen this year anywhere, and I've been looking. Usually I see the plants at lowe's.
