Hello All,

I live in central Kansas and have a large concrete retaining wall that I would like to conceal with with plants. My problem, the wall has a 8 foot base of concrete so unless I use planters, (which I don't want)I can't plant anything at the base of the wall. I need a plant that will grow over the wall down. The wall is about 6 ft high so I would need some sort of trailing plant. Any suggestions?

most of the vining plants will do what you want, honeysuckle, star jasmine or other jasmines. There are trailing roses, lady banks comes to mind. Even wisteria can 'trail' over your wall.

Autumn clematis. Quite lovely with small sweet flowers late in the season. The only problem is it is deciduous so you'll have no greenery after the first frost.
