Oh no no no, keep sending those photos; it's what get me through the day ;)... I heart them hehe...

The site was back up at about 12:30a PST (3:30a EST); it was down before I left to get the new Futon, which was like 4p PST (7p PST) but I worked to get it online most of the night; I stopped at minor maintenance tasks at about 3a PST (6a EST) and figure I'll pound that tonight sometime...

I am technically challenged, sometimes. The things I would love to see are the best free sites you know for things like protecting my computer. And the ones available for cleaning it up. And I have a couple of other questions on occasion as well.

same here Tina,, also want to know about free software downloads for Vista Home edition,, ( or at least works with Vista) like what to look for along with it to be a certified application to be sure not to bring a realm of other things into your computer with the download so it doesn't bog your computer down rolz & The photo editing program that comes with Vista sucks,, I would think with Vista being fairly new they would have incorporated an editing program with better/updated features,, egad and a program to quickly/easily convert extensions of files so they could easily be opened by an email recipient,, and Why I'm sent(via Email) a home video made with MSWMM and my default video viewer is WMM why can't I open it to view?(<I made sure I have mswmm checked boxed to allow wmm to open)
I've heard CCleaner is a good program and when the drop down box opens I get confused as to what to have it clean,, I've heard if you click all you'll have to end up doing systems restore, as it will eliminate things you want to keep why , I guess I could save you the trouble of answering and go get
The Computer book for Dummies zoink lol

yep I've got a lot of questions too, blush lol ,

I use the worldstart website for computer questions. It has bulletin boards and the members respond so quick it's amazing. They have helped me get rid of my trojan horse, repair programs, find needed computer components, free software pretty much anything you could ask for.

Sorry if this rains on your parade James but it is an exceptionally good site for computer stuff.

@Angel; Vista is a waste of time... Every vista pc I've ever touched has had it promptly removed lol...

@Dodge; I'd need Bill's ok ;)...

@Suzy; Well, for me to do it, I'd uninstall all of the drivers from the machine, then I'd purge the remaining data from c:\documents and settings\[yourusername]\Application Data\[manufacturer name]\[printer name] and from c:\program files\manufacturer name\printer name

Then I'd take and try to install he latest version of drivers from their webpage; this will generally work most of the time as the problem is likely a currupted driver or file on the machine.

I'll try that, we tried about everything then finally gave up and bought a new computer

the only thing I didn't do was purge my data, we removed all the drivers and I tried downloading from their page. We ended up letting Ashley take over that computer and got a new one
thanks

I have a question that I haven't bothered with but it would be nice to have the problem fixed if possible.

When I try to use clean disk for the c dirve it just sits there. It doesn't do anything. Even when I leave it "running" all night. This problem first occurred when I got that trojan horse. Is there anyway to fix my clean disk program? I don't have a back up of it unfortunately.

Very cool that we have this here!!

I have a question. I just got a new widescreen monitor at work. I don't know why but I thought that everything would be a little bit bigger than it was on the old screen but it is not at all. I just see more. lol Is there a way to change that. I changed the screen resolution to less pixels and that makes it bigger but it stretches it and the quality is not great. Is there something else I could do that I don't know about? I just want things a tad bit bigger! why

Well, you THINK you deleted all of the drivers; uninstalls generally always leave preferences and other misc files; by purging them (be sure to back them up in case you delete the WRONG thing) you purge the preferences and misc crap they leave behind.

@TK: "Clean Disk" program? What're you attempting to do? The crap one that comes with windows just finds old files you haven't accessed in a while in common places (such as my documents) which one could generally do on their own...

If you're looking to clean up after a trojan, there are two utilities I liek that are both freeware; one is Spybot Search and Destroy, and the other is Windows Defender (by Microsoft).

PQ: Well, widescreen monitors just have more pixels <---> vs a quare monitor, you'll need to set the resolution to a wide screen one vs a full screen one; it should give you a "bit" more screen area, but it's likely it won't be too differant unless you're watching movies on your screen...
