One of my Yukon Gold potato plants has what looks like tomatoes (green) growing on it. I'm new to growing potatoes, so can someone tell me if this is common? Helping mom in the garden 35 years ago I don't remember the plants having "berries". Just curious.

Hi and welcome.

Yup, it's common, potatoes are related to tomatoes, they are both from the nightshade family. Those little green fruits are full of seeds and extremely poisonous though. They contain large amounts of the toxic alkaloid solanine.

Those seeds are 'true' seeds that will produce tubers which will produce potatoes.....

Thanks Tamara!
I'm learning something new everyday about gardening. Watching plants grow under my care is very rewarding, although sometimes I feel that I don't contribute all that much.

Thanks again.
