Mr Gizmo....what are your thoughts on this free program? My desktop is about 4 years old now and is increasingly slowing down....I disk cleanup, and defrag it. I went thru and deleted a bunch of stuff off it....I mean a bunch. But it's still getting slower and slower. When I used it each day it wasn't like that, but now it only gets turned on about twice a week if that.....so I installed the free Ram optimizer...will it really help my computer? Any hints to speed it back up to how it used to be? It's SOOOOOOOOOO slow! IS that usually from having a lot of stuff on it? Should I just keep deleting more and more stuff?
good question. We have 2 computeres---the older one (that has Windows XP)---was getting slower---and so I too deleted all kinds of programs and THEN defragmented.
But the computer runs no quicker.
I have not ever heard of the "Free RAM Optimizer" would this be a good thing for me to do as well?? and if so, how would I go about it. also would there be anything else for me to do to help my older computer???
Thanks

yes you can ---it is no big deal with most--my DD and my DH did it one time on our very first computer--but since I have this one here DH will not be buying any new memory for the old one I am sure.

adding new memory is easy, and affordable; butit doesn't change the fact that a program on your computer is using (or leaking) memory; simply close it or restart it, etc. See the virtual memory thread for my list of how to look up what's wasting ram.
If you'd like to learn more about my family and I, you can do so at Corthell.net [corthell.net]!
If you can learn to use it, Startup run is a good program for disabling programs running in the background, which add more processes. You have to be careful with it, it can disable anything, including important stuff.
