Greetings ...found your site thru a search on Internet Explorer seeking help/advice about Holly trees. Problem: among those on my row of Holly trees one stem, which has become 2, has leaves that have all turned brown. That's on one stem only. Both stems, however have a series of vertical nicks that appear to have been made by a multi toothed horse scraping but of course that's not it. So the questions are why has one stem turned brown and what can I do to help it, and what possible causes are there for the parallel nicks that run for about a foot in vertical runs. Thanks for any and all opinions and cures.

cicadas can split bark. i would prune the dead limbs off.

I love the sweet scents wafting in the breeze. I stop to admire the vibrant colors of all living things. And people think me odd. Then ODD I am!!!
