This little Western Tananger comes to visit and I was fortunate to get a close up of him coming up during his bath. I have many bird baths around our yard and they all get used. This particular one is the enamelware pan my mother bathed me in when she brought me home from the hospital. I saw it sitting in the garage one day and thought there must be something I can do with that rather than sitting here - so a bird bath it was and they just love it. It is probably the favorite of all that I have.

We really enjoy this one and I have lots of pics but this one was my favorite. I'm not familiar with the Painted Buntings - I'll have to look them up and see what they look like. We're finding that we love sitting on the deck and watching all of the birds anymore - no matter what they look like - they are just so animated and especially fun to watch taking a bath and then the routine of shimmy shimmy shake afterwards!

Thanks everyone! Thorny you're right I looked up the painted bunting and it is just beautiful. suzydaze that is just too funny - that's a sure sign they must be there alright. We seem to have birds bathing in 2 or 3 of them at a time all day. No 'dirty birds' around here. I even made some double decker baths and they get used too.

the birds use the dog pools too for a bird bath here, I have one pool that has that little sitting thingy in it and I've seen the birds jump in there on that.
I try to take one day at a time -- but sometimes several days attack me at once. -Jennifer Unlimited- Yard Update -April 2012
Thank You! Yes, they do. It must have been robin bath day today cause they were using all of them all day long! I have 2 next to each other and they were even using those 2 at the same time. I did that because it seems they were always waiting in line even though I have lots of baths. I guess it's a "If you build them they will come" sort of thing! By the way suzy I'm at your site trying to look at your pics. They look really neat but I don't know how to work the thing so I can see them bigger. Guess I'm better with birds than computers! LOL
