Those are great pics. Award winning photos there. That bird was posing. A red tail hawk is one of the few birds I can ID when I see it.

Really Good Pictures! I am working on a collection of photos that I take myself of birds in an ULTRA urban setting, surrounded by skyscrapers, concrete, and asphalt. I am calling it, "Urburdz". This is EXACTLY the sort of picture I try to get for this collection.

the students said that it seemed injured, but after some rest, it flew into a tree and seemed ok. there wasn't any carcass laying around (they looked) so they are pretty sure he was ok.

Absolutely amazing pictures! Oh to be able to get shots like that someday. This site is great to be able to come and see the birds everyone has taken pictures of!

Wow those are some nice pictures. We have one in our neighborhood too. One time it flew into our garage chasing a bird. I shouted "Hey you can't come in here" because I was afraid for the other bird and itself that they might hurt itself. Like he could understand me. Right. Otherwise he just hangs around in the trees by our pond in back.

I try to take one day at a time -- but sometimes several days attack me at once.
