Hello I am new to this forum, and gardening too. I purchased a house in the late summer of last year and found a mystery vine by the front door. Turns out it is a clematis. Today being the first OK day in Syracuse, NY in a while, I decided to trim it up a bit (advice I had seen from various webpages online). I trimmed it to about 2 feet from the ground. I then returned to my computer worried that i just ruined this beautiful fall flowering vine!!

Will my clematis return??

thank you for your help!

You need to know which one it is to know when for trimming. It's a good guess that being yours blooms in fall.you may get blooms.I think most for them bloom on old growth.

I grow Nelly Mosser too.she's a hottie!
