I just got home from going to the lavender festival. It was so cool! I had a crab melt for lunch when I got there then washed it down with some lavender lemonade. I got a bottle of lavender lotion, a bottle of lavender bubble bath, a little bottle of lavender essential oil that was just made this morning, a bookmark with a pretty picture of lavender plants and a dried, pressed lavender head at the bottom of the picture, a lavender car freshener, a lavender sachet, rasberry lavender jam, a bag of lavender chocolate mint cookie mix, and a t-shirt. Before we left I had a butter lavender crepe for dessert. I am so going back again next year. It was lavender heaven!

They had so many lavender things. I never knew you could put lavender in that many things. The even had BBQ sauces, marinades, and pancake mix that all had lavender in them. Each of the lavender farms that are in that area make their own avender goods from the lavender in their own fields so it's kind of neat to support local lavender growers that way. Here's a link to a slide show. Hope it works. nervous

was it really called the Lavendar Festival? That's so cool. I'd certainly go.

Yep, it was really called the lavender festival. The festival is sponsored by 8 lavender farms that are all in a town called Sequim (pronounced squim). They say that Sequim is the lavender capitol of north america. Next year we're going to tour the farms and I'll have lots more pictures of all the lavender fields.

You know dodge, I'm allergic to a lot of smells but lavender isn't one of them and I'm glad.

I love it too,, Have you ever smelled pure lavender oil,, it's soooo very different than what one would buy ,,,, say in a a commercial air freshener , and I love pure lavender soap,, it really leaves your skin soft grin and fresh not perfume(y),

How can I be sure I'm getting pure at the store?

Cheryl ~ I would have been thrilled to bits at that Lavender Festival! When I was young, I used to add lavender scent to my rinse cycle for my sheets and also learned many yummy things to eat and drink with lavender. WOW! An entire festival would be heavenly!!!

Bali ~ are you part kitty-cat? Kitties hate the smell of ammonia! lol

Sheri ~ anything you buy should be labelled as to content... Lavender extract or by percentage, etc. Whatever it has the most of will be listed first so if water is at the top of the list and lavender near the bottom, you can know you are buying mostly water if they don't break it down into percentages.

We were given two hands to hold, two eyes to see, two ears to listen & two legs to walk. But why were we given only one heart?
The other heart was given to another for us to find.
