My two are about 3 feet tall with lots of leaves but no buds in sight yet Dodge - I was wondering the same thing? Although if they are anything like the daturas that I grew a few years ago, they won't bloom here til close to the end of the summer unfortunately.
I had some last summer and they bloomed later in August I believe. Unfortunately they didn't make it through the winter. I put them in the garage. If I can ever find any around here I will keep them in the basement next time! I was very sad to lose them! I loved them!!!
I think I had 2 here from seeds.....Now someone gave me cuttings last fall, it grew like crzy indoor, then into the basement it went..Had white fly problem.
IF Brugs Have a Y Branch they more than likely will bloom in June and September,, Last year Mine bloomed in september and continued to bloom until I had to cut them down and cover them for the winter,, This year Mine are growing slowly except for the un named pink and adora,, but the rest are shorter this year and the leaves are developing smaller,, The lack of rain around here is what I'm blaming it on,, Cindy told me if I occasionally pull off a large leaf here and there it will make the plant grow taller,, I tried it and either it's true or the brug just happen to have a growth splurt, because it got much taller,, I have now done that to all of my brugs,, so we'll see.
Look for a Y section with growth on both arms of the Y and that is where you should see blooms,,,,, again I believe in September,,,,
Jessica I'm sorry you lost your plant,,,, I'll send some starters this fall if you want,, I had so many I ended up tossing a bunch,,,,,, three 6 ft brugs gave a lot of starts, when you cut them down to over winter

That would be so great Diane!! I promise I will but them in the basement this time!! Njoynit thought they would be okay in the garage but I guess not! I am more than willing to pay postage Diane! I was so sad when they didn't make it! Just let me know when you are ready!!
On Saturday, before we left for the beach for the weekend, I checked my brugs as I do everyday - imagine my joy when I found this!
I also saw a tiny bud forming on the other side of the Y on that plant. Today, imagine my sheer joy when I found this - 2 more buds for a total of 3 - can you see them all?
AND... my Adora brug in the front of the house has finally Y'd too! Hopefully it won't be long til I see buds on that one too!
Lynne--it took me a bit but I finally found the buds. (I finally figured out what I was looking for) and I must say, your brug plants are so healthy looking--you certainly take good care of them.

Life isn't about how to survive the storm, but how to dance in the rain!! .....
I am so excited - the top plant - Charles Grimaldi is Ying on top of the Ys, and getting more buds! Can't wait to see the blooms!!! I just need to keep all the critters away from this plant from now on!
I have some buds on mine as well, two on a double white and a few on two pink ones.
I noticed that the pink ones did no Y out. I know that they only bloom after they Y out, or at every Y, can't remember which. I'm guessing that the cuttings I got were from above a Y

have 3 growing and they arent out of kidnergarden yet......When I had the one in the house, it was up to the ceiling almost......I had to put it down the basement cause it had white fly...... Lordy the luck .......
it will take a couple of days to fully flower and it will darken when it gets fully bloomed.. I'm soooooooo sooooooo glad you got blooms from them,
Mine all got spider mites terribly bad,, I had to cut them all back but they are putting out new and bigger leaves and I'mm keeping a very close eye on them!
Again Lynne,, I'm just as thrilled for you as if They were blooming for me here,!!

Thanks Diane. YOU should be proud too - afterall - they are YOUR babies! Thanks so much again for sending them to me! I'm really excited because I'll be able to see the flowers from the windows in the back of the house! Some flowers I can't, like the Adora brug that is on the front corner of the house - it's JUST about to get some buds too! It gets afternoon shade, so it's a bit behind the Charles Grimaldi that gets full all day sun.
By the way Belinda - the one in the front droops everyday from the strong morning sun - but it perks right back up when the sun goes to the other side of the house. The one in full sun never droops - go figure?!? I used to water them everyday because I was worried about drooping - haven't in a while - usually once a week now, and they are doing fine.
I just wish they had a longer flowering period here in zone 6, and that it didn't take so many weeks for them to get to this point.
Diane - good luck with your new leaves - I have every faith that you will have blooms soon - you have great skill with all your plants there!
Just a quick update - busy getting Amy ready to leave for college on Sunday!
These were taken this morning with Amy's camera - we are going to trade cameras for a while - hers is the model just below mine, and I need to adjust to it a bit.
WELL will you look at what 8 short hours later of full sun will do???
I just cannot BELIEVE how WONDERFUL this flower smells!!! WOWIE! :ding: I didn't notice it til Don mentioned that something smelled sweet, as he held it up for the pictures. I stuck my nose in there and didn't want to take it out!!!
