i have so many plants that need more room than the cells they were started in and was wondering if anyone has ever made a nice little flowerpot from newspaper. these tomatoes and peppers are ready to go out but we keep dipping down to the low 30's temp wise and i need to do something with them now. help? i have seen the little "potmaker" in the seed catalogue but thats really too small. any experience out there you recyclers and crafters. the idea being to have something that can just pop into the garden in a couple of weeks.

wow that was fasttttt. i think i get it, i will try a couple see how it goes. couple more illustrations woulda been good. its hard to picture 3 dimensions sometimes. lol
Okay the point is to find a jar or pot the size you'd like it to be i.e.small terracotta pot( to use as a mold) fold the first 2 inches over the top and wrap the rest around the jar or pot and fold the bottom over( as you would wrapping a gift to close the ends up) and use duck tape or something simular to hold the bottom folds in place== remove the cantainer you used and Then fold the top two inches back over to form a rim and wallaaaaaa you have a newspaper pot! http://www.farm-garden.com/backyardgardener/paper_pots

i just wrap a 2-3 inch wide strip of folded newspaper (i find that a half sheet is perfect) around a coke can, the sorta twist the bottom, then press it flat. the indention in the bottom of the coke can will let it push up in, but will also squish the twist flat. when you add the soil, it holds it just fine without tape.
i have also done the origami boxes like kenny is talking about, but that takes too long i'm rather impatient.

Jiffy, you can try flour paste if it really doesn't stay, it's organic too! just mix a bit of flour and a bit of water till it looks like glue and stick on! cornstarch works too!
origami is an art...not that I have the patience either, I find flowers impress girls the most lol

there was a movie i saw once, and this guy made like a bazillion origami swans/storks? and hung them from fishing lines from the ceiling...i was so impressed, they musta had the entire cast and crew folding for HOURS.lol
i made paper pots today! i have a box full of pop bottles that i use for pots, just cut the bottoms off, so i took the top parts and cut the mouth pice off, rolled news paper in them and folded the bottoms, the cut off pop bottles help support it,
