The other day I was up puttering around in my greenhouse and heard the loudest pop on my roof - then again! Scared me half to death! I went to the door and was almost afraid to go out not knowing what was falling from the sky. I finally walked (very rapidly) to the deck and sat down to see what was falling. Sure enough there were green cones flying from the fir tree. Someone was hard at work getting their winter food. I didn't know the green cones would sound like a rock being thrown but they do. Finally the little guy decided to take a break and have a bite to eat. We mostly see chipmunks around our place but this guy was a little squirrel. My picture didn't turn out real great but at least I got one to remember the day I thought my roof was going to cave in!

I heard the SAME thing on my roof the other day. Scared me to death, too. So I sneaked outside to see what it was, only to be hit in the foot by a large flaming meteorite. Crushed all the bones in my foot. Then another one fell and another soon houses were going up in flames all over my neighborhood and cars were being demolished on the streets. People were screaming and crying all around me. Soon the ground was covered with meteor craters and flaming rock debris, AND.......NURSE!.......BRING ME MY MEDICINE!!!........My brain's starting to act funny again!
