I know it has been a very long time since I've set the table for breakfast, so today I'm tying my apron on early to get everything ready.

As you come up on the veranda facing the sunrise over the ocean, I hope you enjoy the heady fragrance of the flower lined path you entered by. The arbor is so heavy with roses overhead, too.

Take your pick of any table; each one is set for eight. Notice the crisp white linen tablecloths against the French Blue & Pale Yellow china? I think it all goes nicely with the Navy Blue napkins. The pink, white and blue hydrangea blossoms in the low crystal vases look so pretty, don't they?

You will notice that each end of the veranda has a drink bar, so be sure to help yourself. For our coffee lovers, this morning we have Rainforest Nut, Harvest Blend, Mocha and Dark Roast, in both Regular and Decaf For Teas, there is Earl Grey, Lemon Zest, Tangerine and Red Rose , and for you Hot Cocoa lovers, see those adorable little Chocolate Pots I put out just for you? Rich Milk Chocolate, White Chocolate with Raspberry, And Mint Dark Chocolate . I hope you find something you like.

There are also plenty of pitchers of icy cold juices.... Orange, Mango, Grapefruit plus a nifty LemonLime Sherbet punch

On your way to your tables, do stop by the Pastry Display and fill your plates with edible delights to nibble on while the entree's are being prepared. There are Bear Claws, Eclairs, Vanilla Creme Horns, Jelly Donuts, and Cheese Danish .

Our waiters today are young men from around town. They signed on just for today because they heard y'all were coming. I think they look handsome in their plain black slacks and crisp white shirts with the sleeves rolled up to 3/4 length. They are poised to take your orders and there is one waiter specifically for each table. Hopefully, you will find the service smooth and undelayed.

From our menu, may I suggest an egg course? We have Coddled, Fried, and of course, omelettes with your choice of content. Seafood Omelettes are really popular around here and you can't go wrong with them!

For meats, there is crisp rashers of bacon, nice slices of ham, and roast beef done to perfection .

For the fish dish, we have beautiful Haddock Filets, piles of Smoked Salmon, and crisply fried Smeltz.

Do not overlook the potatoes, please. We have Old Fashioned Fried Potatoes with Green & Red Peppers & Onions, nicely fat Baked Potatoes, Thin Hash Brown Cakelettes for those of you who enjoy a crispy potatoe in the morning.

The girls in their pretty pink summer dresses are circulating with trays of breads and rolls. Please help yourself! There are Rye, Italian, and a very ymmy Honey Whole Wheat breads and there are Yeast Rolls and beautiful Croissants. The tiny crocks of Rich Creamery Butter and Several Flavors of Jams are on your table. Not to worry if you run out of something; there is plenty more, so just ask!

When your plates are cleared away and your next round of drinks poured, please have a look at our fruits and cheeses the waiters will bring. We have Strawberries, Maine Grown Blueberries, Bananananananas, Clementines and Ugli Fruit. For Cheeses there is wonderful Neufchatel, Feta, and Provolone.

Now that you've eaten, sit back and relax and enjoy the small Combo performing your favorite tunes against the background of the sound of the surf and the birds overhead.

Welcome to my party. Enjoy!

We were given two hands to hold, two eyes to see, two ears to listen & two legs to walk. But why were we given only one heart?
The other heart was given to another for us to find.

Oh, Merme, I have missed your breakfasts. I just gained a ton of cyber-weight. I will need to internet-exercise to remove it all. And then I will come back for seconds in the morning.

There will be plenty here waiting just for you, Tina! There will always be plenty for you!

Oh, and didn't I mention? Many years ago, on another forum just for women, Nana taught me how to take all the calories out of cyber foods.... so you are home free with this feast, my friend.

California passed laws that all of the restaurants had to start using healthier oils for frying. French fries don't taste good any more. They have taken the flavor out of everything.
Please don't remove all of the good flavor with those cyber-calories, Merme.

I wouldn't DREAM of removing any bit of flavor from any yummy foods, Tina! Nana taught me how to do MAGIC, she really did! All of the great smells and tastes and none of the calories. Now that's real magic for ya!

I heard about those laws in CA. We all guessed they would be coming.

We will soon be sneaking our corn oil or peanut oil into our homes to cook with. Unless they take them off of the store shelves. Then there will be a humongous black market. And I will be asking all of you to send me some in the mail. Unless that becomes smuggling. Then I might just have to move to somewhere where the food is still good.
MacD's fries are no longer very tasty. Such a disappointment.

m,erme thank you fioor such a yummy and relaxing breakfast!!! And I have to thanks you for taking out all the calories but leaving in the good taste, which by the way you surely did!!!

Tina: I too have noticed that aobut foods one gets out in a restaurant. it is my thinking that besides the "oils" they are using they are leaving out all the salt & salt type products from their foods. I too have not liked any fries I have gotten in any type of restaurant.

And do not get me started on fried chicken. I have not had a good piece of fried chicken in a long time.

Also at our favorite fish place they have replaced all the lovely battered fried fish with a cornmeal breading that while it is 'OK' it does not hold a candle to the fantastic flavor of the old breading.--and on top of it, the waiteress tried to tell me it has always been like this. Well we eat there a LOT so I know better, but I guess it is just a sign of the times.

Oh my, Merme your post gave me the shivers. All that sugar just gave me a rush grin

Here the private restaurants in town do not have restrictions on anything. You can still get the deep fried 'heavy on the hips' kind of food. Full of flavour and fat. We have a little restaurant in town that's called DixieLee...they serve only deep fried chicken and fries.

QUICK - WHERE ARE THE PLATES???

Well you've done it again, Merme! What a lovely presentation of oh-so-good food and drink to start the day off on the right foot!

I love your descriptions, and my mouth is watering for real - wish there was really a place like that nearby - I could use the pampering and good food and company!

Well I think I'll start with 2 fried eggs, bacon, hash browns, and some honey wheat bread! grin

Oh and some orange juice to wash it all down.

Then in a little bit I'll have a Cheese Danish, a Croissant, and an Eclair. Because why not? It can't really make me gain weight, and that's the best kind of food there is! lol

My mouth is watering so bad right now! boohoo
