Thanks all for the warm welcome! Cricket: I have 2 meyer lemon trees in my front yard, which are only about 2 feet high and yield about 3 lemons a year! I have a dwarf orange tree in a pot, which has never given fruit, but the blossoms smell heavenly. Any advice would be much appreciated! Merme: I sing standards from the 40s and 50s (for fun at home, at the piano) and I sing hymns and other worship music at church. I also recorded a CD of lullabies a couple of years ago.

Ohmygoodness, Lori! I am forever and always trying to purchase Meyer lemons for some of my special recipes and they are not to be had locally! You are a gardener most fortunate to have them growing there!!

You might want to ask Jonni13, Tina, about your citrus trees. She also is in S. CA and quite experienced.

Music from the 40's and 50's is popular in my home as well. My son Maxi, age 12, is particularly fond of DoWhop; he digs that Motown sound. And, we do much worship music and lullabyes are a "must sing" around here, too.

Welcome from another southern Californian.
Three lemons per 2 ft. tree is pretty darned good. Here in Ca, when your tree matures you will probably have blooms, immature fruit and ready-to-pick lemons all at the same time most of the year. I do and my grandmother did on hers.
I have no answers for your dwarf orange. If it blooms it should set fruit, I would think. It might need a different mix of food, water and sunlight and a friendly bee or two. I have never grown a dwarf orange. I do have a kumquat tree in a fifteen gallon pot that is a heavy feeder and producer. It lives outdoors.

Thanks, Tina. Maybe I'll try a different food. I use Miracle Gro citrus tree stakes, but they don't seem to do much. The lemon trees have been in the ground for 3 years--how long do they take to mature?! Merme: I'll check out Banter Hall--I'd love to know some of your lemon recipes! My daughter (age 11) and I like to bake with lemon. "See" you there.
