I stopped at a yard sale on the way home from work the other day, I noticed a red disk shape on a table,, I asked if it was part of a hb Feeder,, 'she' said yes but the top was broken and she couldn't find anything to fit it,, ( I had just remedied that problem my self last week ,,. tho she didn't know it notme ) I gave her a quarter got in the car and took off,, idea I figured if I could do it once I surely could find something that would work to hold the water, thumbup I was drinking aqua fina water in the car.. so at a red light I guzzled it down and tried it in the threads of the feeder and it fit Perfectly! Yipeeeeee,, I got home got a zip tie and some fine gaged cable , looped and clamped the cable ends looped thru the zip tie and tightened it around the base of the bottle into a preformed groove to create a way to hang it ' took the aqua fina label off and place a brighter and more red label from another bottle I had on it and Walllllllllllllllaaa And yes I sterilized both the bottle and the base feeder before filling with sugar water.

It worked!! clap I mean it really worked! shock grin clap this first picture I got thru the kitchen window,,

I only wish I had an actual gold star to present to you. but, I just last week learned how to do the font size and color.
maybe someone else can give you the actual star!

I couldn't tell, is there something growing on your arch?
I'd love to see more pic's of that.

I have NEVER spent over $4.00 for any of my feeders (although I've had my eye on a $10.00 feeder lately)

The next step up from yours, Dodge is a digital single lense reflex camera, Dodge, abbreviated DSLR. The best I've found is a Canon EOS Rebel XTI or XSi. I have the XSi which is the newer version. It has 12.2 Megapixels but no optical zoom. You buy different lenses for different types of photography. The lenses are sold separately from the camera. For bird photography, I recommend an EF 75-300mm Zoom lense these cost $100 - $200. This is the CHEAP lense. Lenses for bird photography can cost up to $10,000.00. I'm saving upfor one of those Big Boys right now. I should be able to afford one in a couple of Millenia. You will also want o get a polarizing filter and a UV filter. These cost from $10 to $100 apiece. My son got a deal on a Hoya Polarizing filter for my camera. Hoya are the best. He got it for $20.00. I bought a Walmart UV filter for $10.00.

Me too! thumbup

cuz I want better pictures than this,, rolz

I did discover a white balance in the camera yesterday,, it's not even in the manuel so I played around with it and found a good setting for the arch feeder with the sky in the back ground but by the time I did the humming bird was gone,, and if I set it on High quality it comes out better tho it would require resizing,, but I can handle that,,
I took this picture of this bird,, on my neighbors roof, toooooooo many of them here rolz they are mean to other birds,,and take dives at them tapfoot

That is lots better......Now one thing for sure, the black isnt showing up , because the light falls on the wrong side of the bird.
Black is sssssoooooooo hard to pick up, even with my camera......Just relax and enjoy the birds..LOL

Your Cream colored Hummer is a Rufous Hummer. Might daughter lives in College Station, TX, and at my request hung some Hummer feeders. Today she sent me pictures of THREE Rufous that are coming to her feeders.

no you are not barb---
in the warm months I put up food for the hummingbirds, the orioles, and the finches. In the winter I take down the hummingbird feeders and I put up the large feeder for the wild birds. It helps them and it provides entertainment for us.---so I figure it is a win--win situation.

great pic! I'll be putting in some sweet pea seeds in a couple of months. I hope mine look as pretty! I have 3 hummers right now, apparently 2 males and a female that fight over my feeder. I have a cypress vine in the back, maybe 50 yards away, and I never see any hummers around it! I guess I spoil them. or maybe they just like to fight?
black eyed susans in the background, dodge...or sunflowers?
