2 cups pitted cherries
2 cups gooseberries
2 cups red currants
2 cups raspberries
5 cups sugar

Crush fruit, boil 15 minutes. Add sugar and boil 25-30 minutes more,, bottle up. Easy as pie and no pectin to add.

Can't see why not Jiffy, it's called July jam because that's what's ripe around here in July.

I planted my own currant and gooseberry bushes.

I have to watch what I plant because my zone is so cold, sometimes I forget that a high zone can have the same problems also.

Our growing season is extremely short. We get frost til the third week in June and Frost again the second week of September.

It lasts a long long while when it's sealed up. My grandmother used this recipe, long before the days of pectin. The long boiling creates pectin from it's own juices I guess. It gets quite thick.
