Greetings,

I am a new member and have been curious if anyone knows a perennial like pink loosestrife? I am aware that purple loosestrife is a noxious weed but the plant I am seeing does not reseed or spread. I have seen this beautiful plant, which is about 3 ft tall with hot pink flower spikes, in many gardens and landscaping in my area. It looks like a cross between a butterfly bush and pink loosestrife. The plant is very airy like a butterfly bush instead of a dense loosestrife but its leaves are similar to loosestrife. Any suggestions?

Hi and welcome Garden-Mom, there is a variety of pink loosestrife, it's called 'Morden's Pink'.

.....forgot to add, it gets 3 feet high and is a bright pink color as well...not sure how it spreads though. It's not a wild variety but is bought at a garden nursery.

I am wondering if you are talking about an "obedient plant" - Physostegia?
