no problem---my one feeder has been taken over by my honey bees--I feel so sorry for the hummers that feed at this one feeder----DH says the Bees have to eat too---but I say that is why I have flowers

woohoo besides rearranging the soaker hoses I managed to seperate all the compost size sticks from the kindling size sticks and I got the ones that are compost size down in the location where I'm going to put the second compost pile. Woohoo. Now I'm hot and sweaty and ready for some breakfast.
And I got the few remaining seedlings watered and the indoor plants. The dragonwing begonia didn't make it. I'm so sad to have lost that one. Great flowers on it. When I'm rich maybe I'll by another one. They sure are expensive. I have several of the regular begonias outside. I may take cuttings of those so I have them next year. They do have a long bloom time.
Here is the girls, Emily in Orange, Valarie in white----this is my back yard---they were working on my new flower bed---it was my Mother's Day gift. Open door on the left goes into the attached garage. The rock patio there in between the deck and the garage door is now expanded toward the flower bed about 8 feet, as we put a 2nd dog pen next to Dante's pen so our grandpuppies could visit.----. here is a side view of the flowere bed in progress--there is a tree on each side of the bed.----The house you see there is of course our neighbors--it is on the south side of our house. All along the back of the property is trees & bushes: an Oak, a pruple Ash, 2 rose of sharon & 2 red bud trees.
here is a view from the front yard. There are 2 treees in front and one space for a flower bed between the driveway apron and teh front porch.
we have a 134' x 154' piece of property. I think that is just shy of 1/2 an acre??? My raised veggie garden and our shed is in the back of the back yard but to the north. Tomorrow I will take a picture from the back deck to show you. I would now, but it is preparing to storm & rain.

I love seeing the pics again Carol...and that's the first pic i've seen from the front, very pretty.
My house has white siding and a grey roof, I was thinking of repainting my shutters and door(they are grey also)...I see the burgundy really goes well, and DH said the shutters are supposed to match the roof, wait til i show him this

tamara, No they are not---They are not even shirt tail relation. However, they have been best friends since they were 5 years old. Chris and Valarie went to high school together, and Chris introduced Valarie to JJ. Then about 6 or 7 years later, Valarie returned the favor and introduced Chris to Emily.

OH tamara, Thank you for posting the picture. I love your front door--it is so pretty--and no it is not just a plain house, You have such pretty front landscaping. And not a weed in site!!-- I love it!!
pssst: Some color on your shutters would look good...I think either burgundy OR hunter green like your door, would look nice--either way would really show off your house--I think so any way

I'm two hours ahead. I'll take the pics later and post them tonight.
My sis-in-law next door has the white and dark blue combo, next to me they have the white and yellow and next to them is white and green. So maybe white and burgundy would be great...still not sure yet though.
Back to the garden topic...sorry I got sidetracked. I'll start a new topic when I post pics.

Tonight will be perfect. I will look forward to it.
the neighbors to the north have hunter green on beigy/taupe. the ones across have white on green and the neighbors to the south have black on white. Mine of course is burgundy on white. of them all I like the black on white least.
actually the white on sage is really pretty, it is just wide trim but it really stands out.

I have black shutters on a white house and I love it. Of course my aluminum door is on the list to replace when I can start spending money on non-essentials.
And next spring I going to do my best to get a picture. It should be looking pretty good.
today, i spent 4 hours repotting plants. i did a schefflera, a ficus benjamina, a ficus elastica, 3 pots of aloe vera, a cast iron plant, 2 pots of arrow head vine, my devil's backbone, 2 oyster plants, an angel wing begonia, a baby's tears, a christmas cactus, my hens and chicks, an old man cactus, and Lord knows there is more, but i can't remember them all.
Well I tried to collect some seeds--but they are not ready yet---and I dead headed some. I am going to remove some of my annuals tonight or in the morning I believe. If it does not rain today a good soaking is in order as well.
