I watched Mad Money last night with Diane Keaton, Queen Latifah, and Katie Holmes.....it was okay. I mean it wasn't great but I didn't hate it.

Just now we finished watching Cloverfield. Talk about a freaky movie. Have a headache from watching it though, with the way it was shot being on a handheld video camera and all the jerkiness to it. It was interesting. Not what I'd normally watch but I got it for Mark.

I also have The Last King of Scotland here to watch with Forest Whitaker. Haven't gotten around to it yet.

So what movies have you watched lately that you've enjoyed?

We're on a roll with James Bond, loz.

We've seen Tomorrow Never Dies and The World Is Not Enough with P. Bronson as Bond and now we are nearly through with Octopussy w/ Roger Moore as Bond.

We like Bond, James Bond.

lol

I remember mad money!
we watched an oldie the other day, I thought the kids would enjoy it and they did. money pit with diane keaten and tom hanks.
has anyone seen the previews for that new movie where the fam moves into a new neighborhood and gets harrrased by his next door neighbor? the neighbor is a cop, so even though the guy gets a lawyer it doesn't seem he can rid himself of this crazy guy. it looks very funny. can't remember the name.

Oh Loz, The Last King of Scotland is GREAT. I can't wait for you to watch it. Are you old enough to have been around with Edi Amin was around. He was such a horrible person. Forest does a wonderful job of portraying him.

Merme, I like Sean Connery and Pierce Brosnan as Bond, James Bond. Do you know that Ian Flemming got that name from the author of a book about birds? My head is full of trivia.

And Diane, I like Nicholas Cage. He is HOT. Raising Arizona is one of my favorites. (he's not so hot in that movie but it's funny)

When Leonardo DiCapprio was young I thought he was too baby faced. But he grew into himself and plays a good bad a--.

Will Smith has superpowers and thought he was a loner,, well he was a loner, lived on the street as a homeless person,, No one seemed to appreciate his heroism much until ... One day he saved the 'right' person and the events that followed adds a whole new twist to the story,

and yesssssss Will Smith is Hot with a Sizzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzle grin

We watched it last night and I wasn't sure how Mark would take it because he's your typical high action, things blowing up, big box office movie kind of guy.

But we both really liked it. It was shocking in parts, and sad, and just an all around wonderful movie to watch. It was great. thumbup And Forest did do an AMAZING job. He deserved that Oscar. thumbup

Oh and I love Will Smith also. I really liked I am Legend a lot and I can't wait to see Hancock. I think the worst movie he was ever in was that Wild Wild West or whatever it was called. lol

And I absolutely loved Pierce Brosnan as James Bond. I know that Connery will always be the iconic version of Bond, but I enjoy Brosnan more. I think that he just had that debonair, stylish factor with his killer looks.

Our library gets tons of newer releases and I can take out 3 at a time so I'm always checking them out for free. Sure beats paying at the movie store. thumbup

Loz, did you see Sling Blade? It was on HBO again last night. I always watch it and Jar Heads. I watch that everytime it comes on HBO too. Mark may not like them because they aren't high action.

we get lots of movies from the library too, but they don't have many new releases.
last time we were at the library looking for a movie a lady sugguested 'Akella and the B'. I had never heard of it, but it turned out to be a really cute little movie. especially for kids, but I ended up watching it three times myself! it's PG and a few bad words here and there, but other than that a very inspirational kids story.

Now we are into Chitty, Chitty, Bang, Bang. Maxi was fascinated when I told him that Ian Fleming wrote the story.... Maxi knows that as the author of Bond, James Bond.

Dick Van Dyke is always fun on screen.

growing up we watched that movie about 8 million times. It astounds me that so many people I know here in the US have never watched it.

Yep Sheri, I have watched Slingblade. thumbup Not Jarhead though.

Cricket, does your library have a county website? I go on mine and there are about 8 libraries in our county. Whatever I find on the website I can put on hold and have shipped to my library for pickup. They get really super new releases. Really surprises me.

Dad has always loved Shirley Temple movies, I believe he has a set of them. It amazes him that she was such a good actress at such a young age.

yea, we do that sometimes. we have about 5 other libraries in our county. I had books shipped in a LOT when my daughter was in 1st grade and struggled with her reading so much. I liked to get the books that were rated for different reading leveles. I haven't done it much with movies though. don't know why?

In Charlotte there is a theatre that shows a lot of art movies. It's been there since at least 1970 and they haven't made it a multi-plex. It's basically the same as it was then. We love going to that theatre. Yesterday we went to see Tell No One which is a French subtitled suspense movie. It was great.
