Good morning, rise and shine. Coffee is on and there's molasses cookies for breakfast.

...and I am out the door in a few for a day of shopping and errands. DH has told me to go buy a new pair of jeans, heavy sweater and fall boots for myself grin how can you argue with that?

I'll be back late in the day, have a good one all.

Hi Tam and Carol,
Sounds like a fun day Tam- get to spend money on yourself- go for it you deserve it.... Carol glad to see you hope you feel some better every day... miss your bright and shiny face here.
Hubby just left to take Joseph to school... Mom is still sleeping too... so really quiet here so far today- we have her doc appt later and then I will be finishing the house cleaning- got a late start yesterday so have the upstairs to finish and the kitchen floor- did get Mom's room done and her bathroom while she was gone- my sis kept her till after 8 last night so thinking she was pretty tired so letting her sleep in today- appt isn't till 11, so we have plenty of time to get ready for it.
We may go to Kohl's after we do the doc and kid running- Joe needs a new pair of shoes too- he wears them till they split and the last pair just did- they will now be yard shoes---
We got a little bit of rain last night...and it is nice and cool outside... but supposed to clear up later- my fav kind of day...
well off to take my shower and get the upstairs started - have a good day!

wavy Good afternoon!

Sounds like you had a busy day as always Nana!

Today has been a long day for me. I couldn't fall asleep last night so I was watching TV until after 2 am and had to get up at 6:30. Now I have a headache and I am tired and ready to go home. 2 more hours!! lol

What is everyone up to today?

Oh Jessica it was a long day here, Wal-Mart didn't have the futon after telling me they did...still mad over that. I did get two pair of jeans, pr of yoga pants and a shirt. No boots or sweater, ran out of money .lol Couldn't find any great sales in my size.

I am so tired....I also got in to see the nurse at my doctors office, she's not impressed with the way my operation healed....doctors appointment to follow, and it all begins again.

So here I sit drinking cups of coffee to warm myself up, i'm freezing today.

WalMart has done that same thing to me. Why do they think you call? Or do they think you'll buy something else once you get there?

did you look at my post about what Diane sent me. Good stuff.

Where do you live that you don't have a WalMart close by? That's just so different to me because it seems there's one on every corner here.

I'm cleaning (already clean) houses. believe it or not I love it! I used to do the 9-5 corporate thing, then was put in a situation where I couldn't work. I fell in love with being here for my children! after the situation at hand was over I decided I would only go back to work if I could still do the 'mommy thing' with them.
So, this morning I reminded one to take his saxophone to school, I braded the other ones hair. I made some money and was still home in time to help with homework! oh yea.....and I'm helping out with the bills.

Good morning all, coffee is on.

Morning,
Just checking in this morning- waiting on Mom to finish up her breakfast, her appetite isn't very good....
Joe went to do the school runs with all the boys today- he is taking Nicoli so he will actually go to class- he throws a fit to get to stay with Carrie but with us he just goes in- knows how to get around her is my guess...
We started cleaning the basement yesterday- have about 8 bags and boxes of stuff to donate- not including the baby furniure- crib- playpen- bassinet,,may go ask the girl next door if she knows someone that needs it before we actually take it- have about 200 paperbacks to get rid of too... Mom reads a lot... may pick out some to to to the used book store with if they do trades have to call them to find out- otherwise - library will get a donation too...
Well off to get my shower and get ready to go find a new lamp for the living room- may look at loveseats too while we are out- really want to get rid of big couch and get something smaller in there- need more room for boys stuff...
Nana

Good morning, coffee is on and there's cinnamon swirls for breakfast.

It's a whole 39*F(4*C) out there with a high of 50*F(11*C) for today. Frost is covering everything, brrr. Fall has really hit us good and early. Oh well, we just had 6 days with no rain that was nice, although it rained the past two days. 6 days, the longest dry stretch all summer... lol

I've got plenty to do outside today and need to get one last 'grass cut' in this week for the rest of the year. Wanna make sure those little yellow weeds don't get a chance to dry out and reseed.

It is 55 here right now. Was 40 when I got up this morning! nervous It was a tad bit chilly! They say it is supposed to get to 69 today but it hard to imagine that that will happen!

It's in the low 40's here today, I went out to do yardwork and was freezing. I decided to come inside and do it later this week, the wind is just awful today...brrrr. I see people have started lighting their woodstoves.

I need to dig out my old winter coat for the outside chores now. Coffee still hasn't warmed me up.

Good morning, a whole 36*F out there this morning. Coffee is on and it's piping hot.

I have got to get the grass cut today since it's going to rain for the next few days and I gotta get it cut before all the frost smooshes it down. So I am thinking today will be another busy day.

let that lawn freeze, tamara! ha ha.
getting ready for huricane Ike, here. went to town and bought the last loaf of bread in a 30 mile radius. ha ha. that media sure gets people worked up. once it cools off a bit, I'm gonna get everyone to help clear off the porch and pick up the yard a bit so we don't have too much to do tomorrow.
I guess tomorrow I'll go pick everything that can be picked from the garden. so, how do you do ripen tomatoes that are still green? never had to do it before. it seems I remember something about cutting off some of the plant the green tomatoe is still on???

Hi, I heard that you can pick them green and put them in a sunny window or place them in a brown paper bag, in a warm place & they will ripen. Never tried the bag method myself, but a sunny window works great! (a greenhouse effect I think)
Or you could eat fried green tomatoes...lolol

Good morning all, coffee is on and there's chocolate muffins for breakfast. I so need to kick this sugar habit...

Sending prayers for all that will be affected by Hurricane Ike kissie

The tomatoes will ripen on their own after picked, we just put them on the window sill...not like they'd ripen on a vine here lol No need for a piece of the plant.

The frost has covered everything and because my grass was just cut, it looks like a light dusting of snow, makes me feel all Christmassy... Shhh, no talk of Christmas this early in front of Bill grin

Morning Tamara,
Pass one of those choc muffins here- sounds really good to go with my tea this morning- we have had rain all last night and still coming down... we needed it for sure... just makes me achey but can't have it all I guess..

Haven't done much this morning- was payday for us so I paid bills online and then did Carrie's too- she took the boys to school this morning but I am picking up Derek when he gets out .. will need to dig out the umbrellas first.

well, I got all the green maters picked. I just stuck them in the window. I bet there are 20-25! I didn't realize there were so many. also picked a handful of peppers. still have a few things to secure outside before Ike comes in this evening. and gotta get everybody showered up incase we loose power for a few days. trying to enjoy the outdoors as much as possible today. they say rain and wind ALL day tomorrow. I can't stand being stuck indoors.
btw...it's creepy quiet outside. I haven't seen a bird (except for hummers) all day and have only heard one or two. I guess that's what they mean by the calm before the storm.
