I received 7 of these from a friend and potted them up immediately. I've grown them once before and hopefully this time will go as well. The only thing I have to do now is find some fishing lead to glue to the bottom of the pots before the stocks come up. Woohoo. I'm going to have blooms in the house this winter.

I hope yours will be as pretty as mine were......I've got to get my bulbs potted up again!!! You said..."find some fishing lead to glue to the bottom of the pots", what do you mean by that? What is it for? ![[Linked Image]](http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q136/Shirley4_album/Plants%20and%20Willies/12Mar13th12noon.jpg)

I think the fishing lead is to weight down the pot? I find that clay pots work better than plastic pots
and just out of curosity. Is it just me or are amaryllis bulbs expensive? They sell for $15-20 here

Helping the world one seed at a time When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it. If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant. Mary Ann LaPensee

No I wouldn't plant anything that was going to get that big in a plastic pot.
I don't know how expensive Kenny, 'cause someone gave me my bulbs.

Yes they are expensive. But they do divide over time which is the good part.
Even with a clay pot these suckers are so tall and so heavy and like to be root bound so it's easiest to still weight the pots. Or put a small pot inside of a much larger one so the proportions look right. I'll probably do that and put three in small pots all in one large pot with some moss covering the top so you can't tell what I've done.

Kenny, I found some amaryllis bulbs on sale for 16.87 at americanmeadows which is an ad by Google. They have so many different kinds, including doubles, which are so beautiful!!! One of those bulbs is well worth that price to me!!! At the top of their page click on Amaryllis and look at all those gorgeous pictures. It will make your mouth water!!!!

Ok, I delivered the bulbs to the ladies last night. They seemed happy with them. Now I just have my three to take care of. I've got to find just the right container for them and then some nice colored rocks or something to put around the pots. I've really got to clean off the folding table so I can bring it in the house and put it in the bay window. I'm starting to need the space.
