This happens to me quite often.. I think it was wrote for me ......tee hee.

I meant to Do My Work Today

I MEANT to do my work today
But a brown bird sang in the apple-tree
And a butterfly flitted across the field,
And all the leaves were calling me.

And the wind went sighing over the land,
Tossing the grasses to and fro,
And a rainbow held out its shining hand -
So what could I do but laugh and go?
Richard Le Gallienne

That poem is great, beautiful in fact.
I've not done my work for a lot less wonderful reason than that!

That is one of my all time favorite poems!!!
I even had it memorized and it all came back as I read it!

I had completely forgotten about it - thanks so much for reminding me, Dodge!

lol Nope, it's going on the bed here. grin lol

I had a $10 off coupon so instead of $37 early bird special I got it for the $27. And it's reversible and great. I have a mild obsession with down.

I'm now up to 2 down comforters....2 queen sized down blankets, 2 down throws, and 2 featherbeds. I'm only missing pillows. lol

I like my reason for not working. It was like a mini black friday. We had to wait in line outside to get in.

Good for you Barb! It's nice to pick things up early--less you have to do during the rush....

Mom bought one for my 18 year old nephew too....Now he's moved out of my sisters he'll be needing more stuff like that.

And mom got my sister one of those things like the Magic Bullet Blender.....where it has individual cups you attach to the blender. It was only $14.99.

I always talk to my elderly neighbor at our fence....and we always are saying how we have so much to do...and she'll always say, well it'll still be there tomorrow. thumbup Then I'm like, yep---it's not going anywhere.... lol

I'm in charge of our finances....so I'm very generous to myself. He loves it though...the down stuff. The 5 inch featherbed on our bed was a splurge but we both love it so much, probably couldn't sleep well without it now.

Some of that stuff were gifts though. One of the down comforters, one of the down blankets, and one of the down throws.... thumbup

Thats true....
Why panic? Gosh you should live next to my widowed neighbor.
White carpeting thru out the house. Cooks in the basement.
Sweep the driveway and scrubs it all year round.
Runs the van and truck down the road, then wipes them clean with a white towel.
And on and on.......
She was a former nun, married to my divorced neighbor, who bore 7 out of wedlock kids .......Plus 4 to his wife.
He was a busy man......

I wonder how he, and a nun, got together??!!

Dodge, I can NOT get work done by:

Having a cold, like NOW
Wanting more coffee and needing a snack
Needing a nap
Rather go out and shop and eat
Have to go to the grocery and stop to eat
Want to lay on the couch and read....this one MOST of the time
Can't get off the computer.....this one SECOND most of the time
Hate housework, so I just don't do it...no reason at all
Hate to do laundry, so I let someone else do it....
Etc. Etc. Etc.

No need to ask Puddin' cause she's too wrapped up in her own sorrow to know what I do or don't do. But, you can ask her anything you want to.

Hiya Shirley4......

Your so funny.. I will write puddin later .. dusting the upstairs.
When not on here..LOL

My neighbor never crossed the road to here......Only if hubby was around.
He was a nasty all his life. I knew him since school.
Even knew the partners he loved up, an had kids. THeir husbands did the same. What lousy area that was.....They came to my church..LOL

I moved to another one. You know when this moron died, 2 years ago. There was a line of traffic to the parlor just like he was a pope or president. Unheard of ......This great sinner had many admirers......
126 came to his burial dinner......2nd wife told me.

THe first wife used to visit him and the 2nd wife.....(With her shack up Man).
Oh god.Glad I am way up here on the hill......I look down and chuckle.

Now you need a nap, shop , or eat????????????

Later puddin.......
