Helping the world one seed at a time When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it. If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant. Mary Ann LaPensee

lol@suzydaze half the fun is getting there. You wouldn't want to miss out on that would you?
I think just about everyone knows I'm on a 10 year plan for my garden. I had hoped to put in fruit and nut trees this year but the money is begin taken by other things. But I'll try for them again next year. Have to save those pennies.
Thanks Kenny for starting a new thread.

I got out there and weeded around the second tree in the tree flower bed. So now I just have the shady side of tree three and four to do and that's done way cool huh? Not that I won't have to keep after it. I'm sure there are seeds and roots all though that area to be dealt with. But at least it's a start. I also got out the grass sprouts from the bird feeder that I had hanging there. I'm going to hang that over grass somewhere. They don't like it on the back deck. Anyway, I'm very happy with what I got done. I would have liked to have cut the back yard but it rained last night. If it clears up this afternoon I'll try and get it done then.

I got half of the back yard cut which considering that it was overgrown was pretty good I think. And I harvested one of the deep rich red purples. All of the flowers that I planted turned out to be very deep rich colors except for the multicolored white and pink ones. But that's ok with me. I love vibrant colors.

I so understand what you are saying suzydaze. I have to get out there this moring and finish up my yard because rain is coming in this afternoon and suppose to continue throughout the week. Which is great for the flowers although we are suppose to get one frost too and that should finish off everything. Wish I could have harvested more zinnia seeds before the frost but I don't have anything to build tents to keep my zinnia going so that's that.

Wow, I may have a source for free sand for the walkway. So since the weeds were comming up along side the edge of the plastic and because I didn't think the clay was level enough to make it easy to spread the sand I decided to rework the walkway. I took off the plastic, weeded the whole length and then raked it until it was all level. Then I put the plastic back down. Now I'm very happy with that stage. So I'm ready to put down the sand and then the stepping stones. Then I'll just have to buy the soil and transplant the groundcovers. This is way cool. Today is speeding past way quicker than I anticipated.

It's in the third drawer in the kitchen...
sorry I couldn't resist. Some days are like that. It's still dark outside so I haven't done anything. I'm not even sure what I may be planning out there. But I'll think of something once I get out there.

Ok, I've planted the daffodils that I missed planting earlier. They are above the zinnias in the tree bed for now. I'll move them after they flower in the spring. Then I took the stepping stone that was sitting in the middle of the back yard and put it at the end of the blacktop where there was a bit of a dip forming from me going to and fro to much. It may not be a great deal but it wore me out. I took a 2 and 1/2 hour nap.

actually, it was in a recliner underneath a jacket, in the living room. KIDS! got the peas tied up the other day and today all I did was mist my seedlings a bit.

Well I did pick up the right size clay pot for my wrought iron holders so now I have a matched set. I'm going to put cypress vines in them next year I think. that will look cool coming down the side of the shed.
