I recently planted an olive tree; the cultivar is arbequina, a Spanish variety. I am told that I need to plant 2 olive trees if I want plenty of fruit, and I have read that it's good to get cross-pollination. I am considering planting a Gordal Sevillana, Barouni, or UC13A6, as these apparently flower around the same time as the Arbequina. One I've heard that is good for cross-pollination with Arbequina is the Koroneiki, but this cultivar apparently flowers a little bit later.

My question is, has anyone had success with any of these in combination with the Arbequina? Or perhaps you have had success with a different cultivar. I am an olive tree novice, so any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I think this should be posted in the "Fruit Forum"; you are likely to get more traffic there.

Maybe you are right. I probably don't need to ask for any more advice on this one. I may well have one of the above by Christmas day, as apparently santa knows about it!
