good topic, emde! I just changed the channel. I didn't realize it was on. I'm not a huge sports fan, but I do like watching 'the best of the best' when it's on. who are you rooting for?

it's a divided house here cricket. we have the hubby from pa, who's rooting for the phillies, but i'm from fl, and think the rays should win. besides, the new expansion teams need to win to prove they can
rain delay, huh? are they playing in florida tonight?...monsoon season there? I'll take some of that guacamoli, emde. would you like to try some of my green salsa? I made it from tomatillos I grew from the seed you sent me last spring! how 'bout that?! I added an avacado. (which were 2 for a dollar!) good grief! I'll be glad when my avacaco tree starts producing. also some garlic, peppers, lime, salt, lemon pepper, chives, cilantro. good stuff! I"m glad me and hubby are about the only ones that like it cause I didn't make that much. hubby got laid off and is doing a side job roofing today. so scary! I did hear from him and he's on his way home now. I guess roofing is no more dangerous than driving home through the big city on a saturday night, though?? ha ha. gotta do what you gotta do. lots of roofing jobs around here since Ike.

roofing is only as dangerous as the chances he takes cricket. my uncle has been a roofer for 50 years! and still gets up there. although not as much. and he is super careful.
mark (loz's hubby) was a roofer too
so what is hubby going to do besides odd jobs? anything in mind? lay off sucks
But if roofing is done carefully with precaution it's safe. Make SURE that he wears safety glasses though....Mark would've lost his eyesight if it weren't for his, he had hot tar blow up on his face across his glasses. It's pretty safe though if they are using safety harnesses and all that. Mark did it for 11 years....he hated it at the end though, too stressful---bad, bad boss. And his body was hurting all the time.
Awww....phiadelphia, huh. jiff, he has been doing anything and everything (legally that is) since he's been laid off. I feel a bit better now after you said what you did about the roofing. roofing and chain saws just scare me! ha ha. when hubby put the roof on the porch I had to leave! went to town and stayed there...doing errands...whatever until it was finished. just makes me a nervous wreck.
