And we are having a Nor' Easter!!! Look what I just saw when I looked out the back windows!!!
The HEAVY metal arbor bench on its side! This happened only 1 other time, during a storm 2 Septembers ago!
And a pot on my deck railing - no longer! One of my favorites too, that still had some osteospermums in bloom even though we've had very cold frost already!
Oh, my small decorative flag, and 2 spinners by the pond are nowhere to be seen - guess I'll have to go on a treasure hunt when the storm is all over tomorrow!
We're even supposed to get some snow mixed in with the heavy rain this afternoon - are we having fun yet??? And then for Halloween it's supposed to be 60 during the day, and 48 at night - HUH???
How's the weather in your neck of the woods today???
WOW Lynne I saw that on the news last night and this morning snow was headed your way! have you found your wind tossed flags and things yet??? I think Shirley had told me snow flurries for her area too??
Un seasonable weather here too,, we had a frost last night ,, Whewwwwww Glad I gathered plants together and cover them I had to use three sheets and had to bring some of them in.... definitely had a frost it was on the windshield I had to scrape off to take Dwight to the Hospital,,, Unreal for Dallas Area this time of year,,,,, I didn't cover the brugs but the largest one seems to be fine, ( I think) tomorrow's suppose to be back in the 70's again,,

Wow! Sorry to hear you are having such a bad storm, Lynne! Hopefully it passes quickly and nothing else gets ruined.
Our weather is okay here today. It is chilly but sunny. Might make it to 50 today if we are lucky. It was 21 when I got up this morning! We had snow flurries on Sunday. Glad that passed quickly. I am not ready for the snow yet! I guess we have to expect it though!
What a mess Lynne, I hate when that happens! I hope you find your flags and spinners!
Mark just called me on his lunch break and said that it was snowing there. 20 minutes away. The town he works in is called Frostburg for a reason. The weather there in the winter is always much worse than our weather.
On weather.com it says we are under a winter weather advisory until 6am tomorrow, but I doubt we see much here, maybe a few flurries or something.
Lynne, I think we are sharing the same storm! It is sooooo windy here! ...and raining like cats and dogs. Can you believe I actually loaded the kids up and went to the mall in this!? They were going nuts being inside tho...took me forever to get them out of the truck for some reason...and Luke didn't know what to do with the wind. He still has that reflex where they hold their breath if you blow in their face...yeah....the WIND was blowing in his face and he kept on holding his breath!!! I went to bed at 2 this morning and it was snowing when I looked out of the window....I'm going to call MIL in a little while to see if they got any amounts of snow on the mountain (20 minutes away). I was pretty sure I saw large clumps of snow on the road that had fallen off of a vehicle, but I wasn't sure if that is what it was or not.
we;re supposed to get wet snow and a mix of other nasty weather tonight...I think we've got your system! The winds here have been about 60km/hr...they almost blew me off my feet!

When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it. If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant. Mary Ann LaPensee
Roofs and ground have snow on them this morning. Not a big accumulation but still. UGH. 2 hour delay for all the schools in this area because the geniuses that be deemed it good to consolidate the school I graduated from with our rival school.
The rival school got pulled down and a new school rebuilt and it's up in Frostburg, the town that Mark works in that gets all the snow....way more than even we do.
Geniuses. Not only do the kids have an extra 15 minute ride tacked onto their already 20 minute ride, but now they are in the town with the worst weather.
IT JUST THUNDERED AGAIN!!! ON NOVEMBER 15TH here in NY!!!
Don just called up "what was that???"
It was unusually warm here today - 66 mid-afternoon, but very wet out from the past few days' rain, and oh-so-humid. I took advantage of a break in the rain today - very cloudy out though - and planted 104 tulip and daffodil bulbs that I bought last week at Christmas Tree Shops at 75% off. I got 88 yellow tulip bulbs, 9 double yellow daffodils, and 7 large pink hyacinth bulbs - I was afraid it wouldn't be nice enough or warm enough for me to get them in the ground before it froze, but today was the perfect day. We've had heavy rain the past hour or so, so that watered them in well too.
Can't wait for spring to get here - could we please skip over winter???
lynne, i wonder if you just got the storm we had last night. it was so loud, i didn't sleep (unusual for me, i can normally sleep through them) that i didn't go to sleep until after it quit around 4 am.
So far we've only had that one very loud clap of thunder - that's what makes it so weird - I could understand if it stuck around for a while, but when we hear the single bursts it makes you wonder...
That's nothing, We've been having earthquakes all day here in Nashville, one-after-another! Large cracks have been opening in my yard releasing HUGE clouds of steam, gas, smoke, and ash, I THINK it MIGHT be a VOLCANO......OMG! WHAT ON EARTH IS THA
Kingdoms RAGE and go to war...but the PEasants plant potatoes..
