Lynne has been telling me for quite a while she frequents the Home Goods Store, I discovered it was here in my area a few months ago but in a different city I wasn't familiar with. Today I finally ventured out to find it Silly Me It was so easy to find,,,,, I could have been there months ago,, I love that store It has a mix of a little but of everything at discounted Prices,, from whimsical yard items to Fine China. I found some solar Balls used in various decorative ways, The one I bought was 2.99 as you will see is cradled inside a ring with humming birds on each side,, I'm waiting on it to get dark to see what it looks like with the ball glowing thru the wings,, I may take the Ball out of it and place a small potted plant in it,, I also bought a reed diffuser scented with Sandlewood Vanilla Bean,, really nice soft scent for 3.50$. , as well as a couple of more things I won't tell because some are going out in gift packages,,
Here is the Solar ball
They also had this Pink Agate, I took the pic with My cell phone I sure wish it would have captured the true color,, it's a hot pink and awesome, I didn't buy it tho,,,
and this Purple set of Agate,,,,, again Not showing the true color,, this looks more of a blue, But it is a true Purple and Beautiful! I just couldn't spend $ 20 on each 1/2
I will certainly go to that store again,,,,,, and again,,,,,,,, and again,,,,,,,, and again,,,,,, once again,,,,,, then again again,,,,,

DIANE!!! That solar ball is sooooooooooooooo cool! I LOVE the way it shines through the metal hummingbird - great find!
And the stones are very pretty too! The purple definitely look like they were cut to be bookends I think. Too bad they were out of your budget. But I'm glad you stuck to it - I would feel terrible for sending you to a place where you couldn't control yourself!!!

I'm officially jealous! I want more cool stores near me! Don't these stores KNOW that I :ding: to shop! Big mistake they are making by not coming here!
I LOVE that solar ball! You got that for only $2.99?????? I would've bought about 5 of them!
Loz, did you check their store locater? I expected it was going to be an eastern thing but there is one about 10-15 minutes away from me. I was surprised.

Nope, just checked--no store. Then again I'm not in a very commercial area so I figured we wouldn't have one. Bummer. Oh well, at least we finally have a Kohls.

Yeah, they are cool---I would've had to try not to snap them all up. Money makes me so mad sometimes, it's just paper....paper!!!!! Pretty weird if you think about it...that we just all trade this paper around for stuff.
The cool thing about the trading post is that the owner is moms old best friend....and her daughter works there and she was my best friend from 7-17. So we love going up there and catching up with them.
You should have SEEN all the wrought ironwork they had in that place. HUGE arbors, I mean BIG...and fences, and trellises and oh-just all kinds of stuff. It just blows your mind. They had gnomes too. But I didn't rescue any.
well I just checked--there is one at "the Mills" shopping center. whish is 24 miles away from my DD--who is 30 miles away from me. BUT I may jsut have to talk her into a trip before Christmas.
and lucky yo for finding the solar balls, Diane. I ask the guy who runs a nursery close to me , that has become my favotite place to shop, because he had lotws of "balls'n his "store" building.
Well none of them were solar, he said he could not get any this year but hoped to next year. I can tell you, though, they will not be that price, for sure !!!! You are most fortunate.

Big Lots carry solar Balls too! especially the very beginning of spring, and more and more I've seen them at Lowes But I don't want to pay Lowe's prices for them,,

Yes there was furniture there too, Not every store has the same thing,, it's what ever they get in,,, Like Lynne told me it's a hit and miss thing, and they may only have one or two items of the same thing in most cases and item availability changes constantly,, except for China Ware, and the holiday items when in season,, the Vases in crystal and Blow glass is awesome,,, there were soo many things there that fit My Classic Chic style of design I could spend $$ there so easy,, DANGER DANGER< Now Between Home Goods and Hobby Lobby I'm in BIGGGGGG Twouble!

Well... since I seem to be the reason for this thread - glad you like the store, Diane! - I thought I'd share what I bought at my new Home Goods 2 days ago. They had all their Halloween merchandise at 50% off on Halloween, and I had to get this plate - we have a black cat, Salem, and ever since we got her, I've been collecting cute black cat items. So Halloween is the perfect time to look for some.
Don is always calling her "Weenie" because she's a black cat. He's SILLY! I'm going to use this under a plant pot when I find just the right one - it was only $2!
Question---can you replace batteries in solar balls? It seems that the one Jiffy got me some years ago & the red one Diane sent me both pooped out at the same time...I just noticed neither are lit up and it's pitch black outside.
You'd think you can, I've just never really noticed if you can take them apart or not. About 6-8 of my solar lights quit working, the normal stick in the ground type. I need to buy some more solar batteries I guess and see if it's just that they need new ones.
Diane that picture of your solar ball at night is so beautiful!!! You had said something about taking the ball out and using the hummingbird part for a plant holder.....I hope you have changed your mind now!!!!

yep I have changed my mind tonight it is even brighter because it had all day in the sun and I like it even better now!

Well the one close to my Job was Not so close after all,,,, 12 Miles seems close but when you have to get on and Off 3 different interchanges and deal with noon Traffic,, welllll lets just say it wasn't a good idea to try that on a lunch break But I did go in and No Solar Balls there I didn't see anything kind of yard stuff there,, Unlike the one I went to Saturday nearing my home, This store had lots of Christmas things and Bedding . towels, Nicknacks and Paddy wacks,

I am sorry about all the trouble with the traffic, but at least you know which store you like the best---so now you won't waste any of you r "off work" time gong to the wrong one on the weekends.
