Calling for snow flurries this weekend.....nothing that will amount, still---I'm not ready for it yet.
Sorry Jessica, I missed your post while I was typing up my last one. Honestly, my $20 tree didn't look much different to me than the super expensive ones. I just can't rationalize spending a few hundred on a Christmas tree.
I've just had that itchy decorating feeling the past few days.
I am having ice cream for breakfast. And I am contemplating how glad I am that I have A/C in my car today. I wore a t-shirt when I took ted to school at 7 am. It is hard for me to twist my mind around snow right now.

Morning, No not time for the tree yet- did buy one last yr but it will go up after thanksgiving... barely ready for that.... it is nice today- windy though and supposed to drop down to 38* tomorrow and a real chance for snow here.... so not ready.... Derek is still sick- really hanging on ... but hopefully will be back to normal by next week- he is hardly ever sick this long... I have to go running errands today... pick up some stuff for Joe at Kohls.. he needs a new belt, winter gloves and hat too... think I will try and get the boys some boots too- they have outgrown last yrs, except for Nicoli's who can wear his brothers outgrown ones being last in line he inherits a lot of stuff... Well off to get my day started.... would rather go take a nap..... Nana
I prefer live trees and always had one but Maxi is severely allergic to the traditional pine so I ended up spending a fortune buying the Frazer Fir for him each year. Finally, it got too hard for me to get down on the floor to water the thing and all of that, so I bit the bullet and went artificial which is something I never thought I would do!
Carol ~ one year Melcon6 came down and assembled the tree for Maxi and I. Do any of our members live near you?
My first MIL had extra storage space and once she put her tree together, each year after Christmas she only wrapped it in sheets to keep it dust free and set it in storage that way. Then it was an easy transfer intact to the living room. I always thought that was an interesting approach.
I'm sorry Derek is still sick, Nana. I hope he bounces back soon!
Tina! The very thought of a/c shivers my soul today.

We were given two hands to hold, two eyes to see, two ears to listen & two legs to walk. But why were we given only one heart? The other heart was given to another for us to find.
If you had 90 degree weather, Merme, you would surely be thinking a/c. But I tend to feel pretty frozen at 60. Everything is relative, I guess. Time for me to get ready for round two of my day.

I appreciate the thought, Merme, but no, on one lives close enough to even consider asking. I DID e-mail & speak to my girls--but neither one has gotten back to me yet.
I even offered to let them put it up the weekend before thanksgiving, because that way they would have it to fix up their own houses and do anthing else that needed done. (they are both teaching school this year)
about your first MIL---MY MIL did that when she lived here in town. each christmas she would wrap her artificial decorated tree in sheets, take it downstairs and sit it under her steps. Out od site, out of mind, and ready to go.

Carol ~ well, I hope you get the help you need from somewhere. The tree is always the biggest part of the job to my way of thinking.
We had a very sunny morning that has suddenly turned dark looking and as if a storm is coming.

I would want A/C if it was 90 here too but just like you can't imagine snow right now Tina, I can't imagine 90. I would probably be complaining if it was 90. I'm never happy I guess.
I hope someone comes and helps you with your tree, Carol! If I lived closer I would come in a heartbeat to help!!
Well, my RN has been here and so has the PT. I'm glad the OT cancelled until Saturday. I ran the dishwasher and made important calls. Now I am ready for my nap after a good lunch of mashed potatoes and eggs.
See you all later.

Bless you Jessica----and I thank you. That is THE one problem with making friends who live across the country----they live across the country...
there is time yet---I am hoping the girls will come and help me.

I'm home from my surgery. Everything went well. I'm in quite a bit of pain but I'm sure not nearly as much as having a regular hysterectomy. I don't even have stitches. I'll be going back to bed soon. Just wanted to let everyone know things went well. Thanks for the prayers.

Thanks for the well wishes everyone. Now I'm going to take the good advice and take a nap. Brennan and Jeremy have went into town so the house is nice and quiet. I'll pop in later or tomorrow to check in again.

I posted my last post and then napped myself for a couple of hours. I should say crashed. I am up now and trying to decide what might be a good dinner.

we had fish, baked potatoes, salad, and garlic bread. I really should have saved such a big dinner for the weekend. it was very good, but I stressed myself out big time. after working all day, then helping with homework then cooking, and now I still have laundry to fold and dishes to do.....ugh.....I'm thinking at least the laundry can wait till tomorrow. I'm pooped! SO glad tomorrow is friday!

I'm still doing homework. In my corner of california it's cold. It's about 40 degrees every morning.
Yes, Enrique. You are on the bottom edge of the low that slammed Bill and just at the top edge of the high that is causing our warmth down here. We have big winds coming now. .

No wheelies quite yet, my Cricket. But it HAS gotten easier to get up the stairs this week. So much so that even my driver noticed the improvement. I do okay on the way up, but the last step is the killer. I have to use both hands on the rail and pull up for that last step. ugh.

carol. i did ok. not great, not bad. if i don't do better tonight though, no work for me again tomorrow. ( woe is my budget)
well better to take the time now to get well and have a lean budget for a bit then go back to work too soon and then end up in the hospital for say 2 weeks.
Merme, I hope each day is a bit better for you. I also wish a great weekend for you and Maxi.
