ok, to make a long story short...I was in a friend of a friends house the other day and contributed to a breaking of fancy glass wine bottle cork. I never knew there was such a thing? when I first saw it, I thought it was some kind of pipe and wondered how these fine people could be smoking something that required such a fancy pipe? the homeowner didn't seem to mind in the slightest and made light of it. but I can't let it go. I want to replace it! I don't drink wine and have NO idea where to buy such a thing. any ideas?

I would go to a specialty shop dealing in spirits ORa really nikce liquor store anmd see if they could order you some.
AND occasionally penney's Christmas catalog has such items in their gift section.

My youngest daughter broke a crystal rose someone had in their home when she was a baby. I looked all over for a replacement for that rose and never did find it. It is gifty season and that seems like a nice gift for wine drinkers. We have some larger liquor stores that put out a lot of fancy (drinking) gift ware for this purpose. I think that would be the first place I would go/call. Then a little more expensive would be to check out the gift type stores in your local mall. Good luck on your hunt.

a liquor store, yea! I'll try that! like I said, the guy wasn't disturbed at all about it being broke, so I don't think replacing it with an exact replica would be necessary. but, I DO want to make it up to him. they have lots of shells in their home along with portriats of boats and such. I think if I can get something that fits in with their style I could live with myself and put this mess behind me.

Nautical would be nice! Even if it isn't glass but carved wood or something. An exact isn't necessary.

hhhmmm....you have a point, tina. If I'm going for 'thought' and not 'replacement' I could go with anything that represented the nautical. how expensive of a thing was it that I broke anyway????

I have no idea. Was it hand blown crystal? Antique? You were told not to worry. I like that you are worried though. So go see what you might be able to get. Even a couple of wine glasses with old ships or shells etched into them, would show the right idea.

Forgot to add that if you wanted it on a cork and not on a glass stopper, go to the second page...the very last one has cork, but I do not know if you can choose what you want as far as the decorative part.

I've seen those toppers at walmart, target, (< sold in area of store where they sell the wine, also in household goods,) liquor stores, Steinmarts, Pennys, Dillards, Macy's,, all kinds, from Glass to stainless steel, to woods, parrots to flowers to stars to seasonal designs, ,,, there is a wide array of designs, ,,,, as they are popular a lot of people use them in all size liquor bottles, ,, malls usually have the best choice, I've also seen them in Tobacco specialty shops ,,,
