In the first week of October,I planted some pea seeds. Now,after a month and a half, they are starting to develop flowers. By Friday,I expect the first flowers to open, and a week or two after that, the first pods rady to harvest.I'm ordering some broccoli, cabbage, carrot, and lettuce seeds to plant. This winter's going to be fun.

That is very cool, Enrique. We are lucky in our long growing season.

enrique, half of my pea crop was destroyed by the hurricane. But, the ones that survived are producing like crazy! If your talking about sugar snow peas (I think that is what I have?) they are VERY sweet when they are really young. I've been eating them raw from the garden. none have even made it into the house yet! ha ha I believe you are really going to enjoy growing those. best of luck!

I'm growing some peas from seeds I collected from plants I grew earlier in spring.I wait until the pod gets filled, then I harvet, shell, and put in a baggie and store in the freezer.

The pea flowers are barely opening.Guess it takes longer for them to grow in fall than in spring.

The pea flowers opened completely today. There are more flowers developing.I'll gather peas from each plant for about three weeks and then I'll leave the rest of the pods to mature so I can get some more seeds to plant next winter.
