lol I'd rather have your sunny weather! I hate not having sun. Snow is a good amusement for a while, then I'm sick of it. lol

Good thing Jiffy didn't come now! lol

very good thing Jiffy had not planned her visit for now--yes indeed.

and just you wait until tomorrow. it will likley be sunny and clear then--and sun on snow makes it so very bright and cheery.--you will like it then for sure.

Very cloudy here, with snow flurries expected tonight. It is also supposed to be the first hard freeze in NYC for this fall. I'm so glad I got my bulbs planted on Saturday!

Loz - those pictures are very nice!

We have flurries and snow showers today, but nothing like what you have, Loz. It's just under 40 degrees right now with temps supposed to be in the 20's for the rest of the week.

I have 91 degrees and my first narcissus blooming outside today. I will admit that the narc is a little confused, either late or early, I'm not sure.

I will remind you at this time that I was wakened by an earthquake this morning. And over 800 families lost their homes to wildfires this weekend. There are drawbacks wherever you live. I get snow for a couple hours at least once a year. And summer gardens here are mostly just fried.

My plan is one day when I hit the lotto, to become a snowbird and go south for the winter! lol grin thumbup

I "like" snow to an extent, then I'm over it. It's really the cold that I hate the most.....when it's just bitterly cold.

Loz ~ we are predicted to have your weather tomorrow!

Having been gone for two months, I am not prepared yet! I still need someone to go shop for me... a new shovel, some snow melty stuff... And I need the a/c out of Maxi's window lest we get snow indoors!

When the kids were home and in school, I looked forward to the snow days.

and now I wouldn't mind the snow if it would learn how to a stay off of the roads, and then perhpas the sidewalks and drivways. ( just from shoveling DH was down in the back--literally in bed for a week last major snow fall)

I actually like wearing pretty sweaters--so one has to have cold, huh???

I love the snow....don't mind driving in it. Nearly everyone here has a 4 wheel drive vehicle because of what we can get. The last few years we haven't had much at all, but this year the almanac predicted more snow than usual. I hope so! I would love a good snow fall for Maddie to play in.

Carol, I saw somewhere (can't remember where) a snow shovel that looked like a snow blower had been squished into it. It looked like a weird shovel and had blades or something in it that rotated and acted like a snow blower. Didn't look cumbersome at all to use and didn't look heavy at all. Maybe something to look at?? I kind of think I saw it in this Sunday's Red Plum or Smart Source inserts.

Loz ~ I love your pictures but oh man, I do NOT want to see that sight out my own windows yet!

I did however get a new snow shovel and a big bag of ice melty stuff.

I think snow is beautiful---

however, like I have said before, until it learns to stay off of the roads, and sidewalks (& driveways) it can forget to fall here.

Loz, I hope yours melts soon for you. kissie

Yeah on a christmas card! LOL Try living in Michigan we have snow on the ground already it snowed 2 weeks before thanksgiving. And it is cold.
And all last winter I shovelled the long [BLEEP] driveway . Wait I always do.. Yeah we have a big snow blower, it was broken last year. now its fixed. But yup it will be me doing it.
If it never got on the roads or the driveway I could deal. And we hardly have sun! Talk about depressing. I love Summer spring and fall, winter, you can keep. The only saving grace is seeing the crocus pop up the first warm spell in March! HOPE! neenee

I love all the seasons and what they bring. I could never live somewhere that didn't have all four distinct seasons. Snow is just fine with me. It is not like you get snowed in for a week and cut off. The streets get plowed and the walkways shoveled and I am on my way. I did go to SC and FLA last Feb for 2 weeks and it was a nice change of pace. Winter brings a quiet solitude that I appreciate.
Warm sweaters, hot chocolate, snowmen, and a fire in the fireplace!!!

I am glad yo ucan be so optimistic--and have a good outloook about Winter. The bad roads, ice & the like are my concern. I too love the snow--in its place.

here, yea they use the snow plows--but at the intersections it is left, and after it gts mushy it would be no big deal to push it aside. But do they--NO so when night comes, where one had mush or water, one now has ice--NOT a good thing when you are trying to brake.

Give me spring, summer and fall----only. thumbup

We've been snowed in here before for days and days.......it's rare, but when we get 3ft+ they've shut the interstates down. I don't have to drive in it though! grin When I did I really hated things worse.

One thing I will agree with Kim about is that I MISS the sun! I miss it! I take for granted all of the summer days where it's day after day of sunshine!!!! I don't function well without sun. lol

Yeah!!! Like 1 week a month of winter. How great would that be? I could handle cold and heavy snow for just 7 days out of each month for 4 months! grin

I really miss swimming in my pool, I think I've said that 50 times already. lol

The Gold Finches give me that splash of color all summer and in the winter, I have the cardinals and the blue jays. The jays can be a bit noisy but I love that flash of bright blue. I have 8 or 9 see feeders and 4 suet feeders and get all kinds of birds as well as the crazy squirrels. They can be quite entertaining.

It has been so cold and windy here today I haven't heard any birds. I saw some geese up high but none down low. I think they'd get blown away. I haven't seen any birds at my finch feeder.
