Carrion ~ starfish stapelia variety ,, Huernia schneiderana Scientific Name: Huernia schneiderana A. Berger Synonym: Family: Asclepiadaceae Also Known as The red dragon flowerhttp://www.killerplants.com/plant-of-the-week/20030929.aspTime to bring it in,, and Boy has it grown!!!! I've given away so many pieces of this over the last couple of years that there was room for it to expand in the pot it's been a while since it was this long this year I kept it in all shade and didn't let it dry out completely, cactus%20and%20succulents/carrioncactus.jpg" alt="[Linked Image]" class="post-image" style="height:auto!important;max-width:100%!important;"/> This is the first time I've seen blooms on the extended growth,, usually they are "inside" closest to the soil, You can see this bloom bud in the above picture if you look close at the bottom of the left one hanging,, cactus%20and%20succulents/DSCF0015.jpg" alt="[Linked Image]" class="post-image" style="height:auto!important;max-width:100%!important;"/> Here is another bloom outside of the pot cactus%20and%20succulents/DSCF0014.jpg" alt="[Linked Image]" class="post-image" style="height:auto!important;max-width:100%!important;"/>

WONDERFUL Diane!
Those pictures are really great, and that plant - WOWZERS!!!
Mine is just creeping along - had to bring it inside about a month ago - it's nice and green but doesn't grow much at all when it is inside. I long for the day when mine is as large as yours!

2 different kind of plants in mine. It is the same bloom, and were given to me by 2 different folks. It is looking like a forest now, was about 3 inches long before.
Yours looks really cute.....So far the blooms are in the pot only.. thanks for the view. Oh, mine gets afternoon sun only.

Hello Angel, I know this is an "old" post, but OMG angel! That is just the most GORGEOUS Stapelia/ flower I have ever seen. Absolutely breath taking. I am fairly new to the plant world, and I have a special place in my heart for succulents. I had no idea Stapelias could get so long. Just beautiful, really! Major high five on this one!! Great job angel, obviously your plants love you and you are gifted! Thank you for posting.
