My Eureka lemon tree has started growing some huge leaves; much bigger than the old growth leaves. Is this uncommon?

Also, does anyone use lemon leaves for cooking with? I have seen recipes with lime leaves, but not lemon leaves. Wonder why that is?

a. I have seen it happened to some of my 78 citrus trees in containers; most notably in grapefruits, limes, lemons, oranges, and pummelos. The bigger leaves are predominantly new, shiny and dark green in color. I suspect the bigger leaf size is due to the absorption of nutrients from fertilizers/soil. However, there is no noticeable change in leaf size for calamondin and kumquats.

a. lemon and lime leaves are used in cooking. As for recipes with lemon leaves, please Google search "recipes with lemon leaves".

Thanks, papito. So it's not just my lemon tree that does it! Yep, i will look up recipes with lemon leaves. I noticed that leaves and flowers broken off the lemon tree smell pretty good.
