I have what look like root growths coming out of the bottom of new shoots 3/4 of the way up the stem om my Yucca plants.

Are these growths, roots and should I cut off the new shoots and replant them or are the growths and the new shoots ok where they are?

Some advice, please.

Murray

Hi Murry,,,,, Your link doesn't work,,, But it does sound like those are roots, and they can be separated from the mother plant to pot up
Do you have a Photo bucket account to upload your picture from ?

your link will only work for those who have a facebook account. please post a link to photobucket or other pic hosting site so we can see the pic.

what you are seeing may be a flower stalk starting or it may be pups starting. if it's pups, i would wait at least a year for them to get some decent roots going before seperating them from the mother plant.

I have facebook, and I did see your pictures. It does appear that you have a plantlet/pup that is putting out roots. The pup looks like its starting at the middle of a thicker trunk. I would say leave it for another year or so. It has from what I can see 2-3 roots growing.

On second though, I'll post the pictures here so more people can see and can give you more accurate instructions:

i agree with kenny - let them develop a bit more before you take them off.

you're just getting into spring - which is the best time to do it, so you'll need to wait until next year.
