I know a lot of you like the "Pretty" snow, but after I take pics of what it did to my lovely little ornamental plumb tree you will understand my anger.
First off if anyone believes in Global warming I have a bridge in brooklyn to sell them
The dumb weather guys said yeaterday a trace to maybe one to 2 inches. HA Try 6 to 8 if not more.
it snowed all afternoon and night, And being that it was like 33 degrees well the snow is HEAVY. It was all sticking to the trees last night, This morning I turned on the light and its so think and heavy so many trees are weighted dwon with it, then I saw my plumb. one big limb laying on the driveway and the other one weighted down on the lawn . I did not think it was split till I went out side to clear it off.
the back limb is split. Theres no hope for it. I am so sad. No I am so fed up. ITs only november,
Rant over I guess, but my point about global warming was that people think they can predict weather with computer maps way in the future and they cant even predict whats happening the same day in their own town. Like I said it looks pretty. On a christmas card! madd rspb rolz

sorry I don't know know much about that particular tree,, but I do know how it hurts when weather can destroy fav plants/trees ,,,,,,
maybe the roots are established enough it will come back okay in the spring?? why

I hate winter too.--so sorry about your plum tree--I completely understand what you are going thru---

We have been having a VERY hard time getting trees to grow in this x-field we bought here---a year agio we spent a small fortune on a Purple ash tree. it was doing very well.----in the last week or so, a deer came and stripped off the barka nd then broke it off aopbvut 1 foor fromt the ground. It then proceeded to one of my red bud trees and rubbed some bark off of it. Not full yet, it went on to my raised garden, and tried some of my asperagus fonds----trampleling as it went---

I am sorry about your plum tree, Kim. Even in places without harsh winters we lose trees to natural disasters all of the time. It is sad to watch happen. We keep on plugging away. I'm glad you are here too.

Sorry Guys.. Did not mean to sound like such a grouch. I had a good cry over that tree.
I think I may be able to save one of the limbs, I have the snow off the driveway and the sun is coming out so I am feeling a bit better. IT was a bit of a shock first thing in the am.
I will take pics of the snow all over the trees.. Yeah.. its pretty. Sorry again! kissie

Those of us who don't see much snow forget how hard it can be when it snows everyday and a lot. We think it's fun because it melts in a day or 2 and we get to stay home from work and school.

Don't cry over your tree. Crying makes wrinkles, which causes me to cry looking in the mirror, which causes more wrinkles and so on.

Yes angel thats the poor Plum. I need to cut that really broken branch off. ITs split, but the back half may be savable. I am hoping it stays dry to day, I am going to try to wrap the split with burlap and duct tape. Desperate I know, But I have a pin cherry in the back off that deck that lost a huge limb in 04 from a terrible ice storm.. IT broke and split. and All I did was saw off the limb. ITs still alive today.
So I am praying my little plumb might hang on. ITs so darling in the spring, with delicate tiny pale pink flowers and the dark purply leaves~ tears

Those are beautiful pictures, Kim. I hope the plum can be saved. Like everyone else, the older I get the less I like the cold.

Woke up to about an inch or so of snow this morning. It's sunny now though.

It was just enough to make everything look super white when I woke up. It's bitterly cold though thanks to that darn arctic air.

lol Jess, mom said that same thing this morning. That it was beginning to look a lot like Christmas.

I do a wee bit of bragging in winter when I have good weather by comparison to most. But I try soooo hard to keep quiet in summer when all I really want to do is whine about the heat. I don't like whiners, especially if it is me doing the whining.

That humidity would KILL me. I think I'll suck it up with the cold weather. I mean it gets very humid here in the summer too. But I couldn't stand it year round. I would melt. lol Am I whining? haha

We've had way over 3 inches of rain in the last 2 days. I didn't look this morning but yesterday afternoon my rain gauge, that Patunia gave me, had 3 inches in it and it rained again all night. I know I'll regret saying this in the summer but I'm ready for a break from the rain.

I have been known to sit here at my computer with my blue nitrile gloves on. They do a little to keep my hands warm and I can still type.
