Carol sent me a HEAVY package last week that contained belated birthday presents. My birthday was back in September, but Carol had her surgery back then, and has been recuperating since - very well I might add, because she is listening to her doctor's advice - smart woman!
This package was chock-filled with perfect goodies! I love each and everything in there! Carol really listened to things I've said, and went out and found some wonderful things.
Here's a picture of them all - minus the 3 mint chocolate Lindt truffles - with the perfect note - "Here is a "small amount" of chocolate. Surely so few calories will not cause a problem" - how nice is that??? They are hidden in my drawer here, so no one else in the house gets to them before I do - I am waiting to get rid of my cold so I can savor every last drop of them!!!
She sent a beautiful copper watering can - exactly like the ones I've been eyeing in the stores for YEARS but never splurged on - I LOVE IT!
And hull-less popcorn, because I've been telling her that while I love popcorn, I find it very hard to eat because the hulls always get stuck in my tonsils and that is very painful - how nice was that of her???
And a terrific sprayer that you hook up to the hose to spray plant food outside - that will be great for all the blossom booster I have left over from this past summer!
And a very nice metal sign that says "Garden Diva... hard at work"! This will be hung near the basement door to the garage where everyone will see it when we go out to our cars each day, or out to do yard work or gardening! PERFECT!
A terrific mousepad - it's a monthly calendar where you change the page each month - with kitties on it - never saw one of these before either but it's a GREAT idea!!!
And a very cute bluejay figurine - have to find just the right plant to put him in!
And some stationary that actually matches some blank cards that I bought for myself - great minds thinks alike, you know?
Some pretty colored yarn that I will find just the right projects for!
The exact catfood that my cats have been liking for their lunchfood lately!
A very pretty garden flag that will be perfect for spring!
An exfoliating glove - I've never seen them before and look forward to using it - and in [color:#3333FF] BLUE too!
Some handcream to try - to see if it works for my chewed up fingers from all the projects I work on constantly - what a great idea - if I like it I can order some more!
Oooops - forgot the great "dishcloth" knitting booklet in the picture, because it's already upstairs here - I am already making one of the patterns in it - these are designs that I've seen before, but not tried yet - I'm so excited to have these great instructions!
And last but certainly not least... a beautiful BLUE watering globe - can't wait to try it out!
This was a fantastic pick-me-upper while I sit here sick today - and it's also fun getting birthday presents after the fact, because it makes the day last even longer!!!
Thank you soooooooooooooooooooo much Carol, for being such a fine friend and generous gifter! [/color]
Ohhhhhhhhhh - I just opened the aqua globe box - hadn't done that before and thought it was going to be blue, but instead it is a gorgeous turquoise color!!! I am telling you - that Carol is THE BEST!!!
Not to hijack the topic--do we still use that term? --but i'd like to thank carol too, out of the blue i received a card from her today! thank you carol!
