Also known as Yellowhorn tree, any body herd of it? I have seeds for this tree. Very interesting tree beautiful flowers in spring nice shade then the strangest seed pods ever. They look like a lime. Inside are 12 marble sized seeds that you can roast and eat, or eat raw. The grandkids love them. Google this tree then let me know if you would like to try to grow some. They seem to sprout easy as I have found seedlings around the greenhouse. The tree shades my greenhouse. PM me your info. Merry Christman!

This sounds like a really cool tree. But I don't think it will survive in my very dry zone 9. The only zone I found by googling was 4-8. Most didn't provide zones at all. It said the flowers and leaves were also edible.

If you would like give them a try I will send you some seeds. They seem to be pretty adaptable trees. If they don't do well we at least tried. Plant them in pots until they get some size to them before moving to final location.
