Hey Loz, can I fight you for Edward Cullen? I recently read the whole series and was hooked. I was only persuaded to try them by my 13 yo daughter and felt a bit daft reading what I thought were teenage girls books, but I couldn't put them down. We are waiting for the film to come out now.
We've got rain today and it is dark! Oh I wouldda liked to have sunshine at this hour.
I'm waiting for my girl to arrive to get the coffee started unless one of you could pour me some?

I'm reading Forever Odd, by Dean Koontz. "Odd", is such a loveable character! I read Brother Odd first and just fell in love with him. So then I got Forever Odd. He sees dead people that haven't moved on yet. he is so honest and admireable in everything he does and think. and very funny! He doesn't like that these dead people are drawn to him, but feels he has an obligation to help through to the other side. which is hard because 'the dead don't talk'. I think there is at least one more Odd book. I'll surely read that one when I'm done with this one.

Good morning. The sun isn't quite up here but it is lightening up behind the mountains. Looks like a sunny warmish day is going to happen. With a lot of wind tossed into the mix. Today is a day to take John to the hospital and possible transfusions. He loves going because he has made true friends with all of the nurses and staff. That makes it a kind of fun outing for all. Not a hardship. I am on my second cup.

Oh yeah, to the point where I had to literally pick it up with my other arm to move the "dead" one. It's always a little freaky.
Benjismum, I'm not sure what your real name is.....but I don't think Edward is the kind of "person" that could be shared. Glad to know that someone else has read them and joined in the Twilight Frenzy.
I used to read Dean Koontz. I read many of his books years ago but then they started to get just too strange for me.....used to read a lot of King too but I don't like his newer books....just his older stuff.
It's pouring down buckets of rain here too this morning, and dark.....this is the time of year I really start missing sunshine.
Mark is out hunting---probably going to come home soaked thru....
I too hate it when my hand/arm is numb when I wake up! Fortunately, I usually wake up through the night and move around so it doesn't happen too often.
I'm glad to be home after dialysis and I'm thinking of making some coffee of one kind or another.
I just did a manicure today so I'm trying to type carefully! Tomorrow I won't care as much; today I do.

I tried to nap but it wasn't happening. I couldn't find Teddy so I searched a little harder and found him sleeping in a closet with the dog on a pile of clothing he had unbagged. He had a spoon in one hand and his empty container of yogurt in the other. I removed the eating paraphernalia and left them to sleep. I need to wake him soon to go pick up his dad from the hospital. But meanwhile it was cute, if a little unnerving to 'lose' him.

I'm glad you got snow, Miss Cricket. That can be such fun, even if short-lived.
I would have found it hard to awaken Ted too, Tina. He sounded too cozy for words.
Hey there Carol Jean, how are you tonight?

No snow here but the first of our local ski resorts opened today. Night time temps have finally been low enough to make snow. And we are expecting snow on all mtn resorts this weekend. I like warm myself but not too warm. I am getting pickier in my old age.

My new agency is working out well and in these girls opinions, my previous helpers "should be shot" for letting my place get so bad. *You got that right* So, I am far less stressed because my house is getting cleaned at last, my errands are being run, and I'm all spiffied up too. They have also been cooking for me because their boss gave them the word that they need to try to boost my nutrition because I often don't feel up to cooking and so tend to skip meals or eat something easy that may not be helpful. So, they stick something in the refridgerator for when I come home from dialysis. That's a big help, too.

Oh, I am so glad they are being so helpful to you, Merme. When you are done with those helpful fairies, maybe they can do the rounds? My house is falling apart around my ears here and beginning to look like a huge job. I have never really wanted any house keeping help but it is beginning to sound pretty good now.

Cooking and setting meals aside is a great help, Carol. My docs want me to eat far more protein than I do but I don't care for it too much and it takes time/effort to prepare. Having the help is better.
I plan on digging out craft supplies because Maxi is going to want to be crafting this weekend.

you guys should all live close to me. I do house cleaning now. it seems to be the only job I can find that works out around my kidos school schedule. I'd scrub all your houses down for you! (then maybe you could all get together and clean mine?) cause you know that is the LAST thing I want to do when I come home! Ha ha ha. So WHERE is little ms. angleblossom? playing in the snow? I'm curious if she saw some snow today as well. it started up here snowing again a bit ago. the kidos went out to see it one more time. when we checked on them it had started to sleet so we got them back inside. they are SO excited! I didn't even press them to do homework today. none of our pics are coming out, though.

I love this time of night when the neighborhood is quiet and yet there is the far distant sound of an occasional car passing by, lights flashing through the trees and reflecting on the wet road.

When cars (or golf carts) pass by my house it is the gravelly crunch of the dirt road with an occasional pop of a pinecone 'tiddly-winked' from under a tire. This is not often because there isn't much of a destination beyond my home. A little further away but still close enough to hear well are six major train tracks and sometimes heavy freight trains struggling up the canyon, or down. And then a wee bit further two freeways merge and head off into the desert with a lot of vehicle traffic. I live here and hear not much of this. It blends into the normal background noise like waves on a beach. Now when a coyote howls, I don't hear it on my own but my dog makes sure I listen up!

I don't mind hearing wildlife as long as I know it is outside and I'm not! And I like the sound of gravelly crunch in dirt. We just have a parking lot here and it doesn't make a nice noise.
I can't decide if I'm hot or cold. I keep putting on my sweater, getting too warm and taking it back off and getting too chilly... this is crazy!

I have that hot/cold thing going sometimes. I call it menopause. But if that is the worst that nature tosses at me right now, I can deal with it. From my front porch (or the back) I have seen hundreds of coyotes, a few bobcats and mountain lions. Along with deer and raccoons and skunks and snakes. I never let my kids go out after dark unless there were plenty of people around. But I wouldn't change where I live for anything. I love the wildlife.

There is a road here out in the desert where they have cut grooves in the road. When you run a car over it, it plays the the beginning of the William Tell Overture. They had it on a different road but it could be heard all night long by a few of the residents and they complained. So they filled in that one and cut the grooves into a different place further away from homes. People drive there just to hear it. You can also tell when people are speeding just by listening.
