Hi!
I have a friend who has an office with very tall ceilings... he's wondering what sort of plant he can buy that will grow very tall, say... 10 ft or so tall...
any ideas?

A ficus will live in some indoor lighting conditions. And there are some very tall dieffenbachias that get tall and enjoy office lighting a lot. Some rubber trees.
A clue would be to look in your local malls or hospital lobbies, etc and see what you would like to live with. A lot of those will do office life with you.
I think one of the most interesting 'office' plants I have ever seen was when a collegue built an interesting trellis to use up the space he wanted to fill using copper tubing he bent. And then planted it into a pot along with a sweet potato. It grew up the trellis and he had a living sculpture.

Yes, do look around at what local offices/buildings have in their offices. The MOST important thing to consider (in my opinion) is the office environment: light, temperature, humidity. Some tall plants that come to mind are: fiscus tree, corn plant (diffenbachia), etc.

When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it. If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant. Mary Ann LaPensee

Araucaria heterophylla ' Norfolk Island Pine

On A shelf you can put Pothos hanging ' Epipremnum aureum' . I have mine trailing across the top of my bar and then cascading down.

I love the sweet scents wafting in the breeze. I stop to admire the vibrant colors of all living things. And people think me odd. Then ODD I am!!!
