It was -15 degrees this morning, and the advisories are running. So you know Maxi & I are planning a warm day indoors today! So snow fun for us in this bright New Year morning.
He got all dressed after breakfast and put his Red Wizard's Robe back on. I think I may never get him out of the thing again! He says it is very cozy and warm.

Br-r-r it is chilly in the house! Another morning I wished I had a fireplace or a woodstove. Well, the next place we live WILL. Sometimes a home just needs that extra boost.
Maxi got Sudoku (sp?) as a card game in his Christmas Stocking. We are going to learn how to play it today.

I particularly love a fireplace in the bedroom, which I've had in a few places. But truthfully, I'm with you, Afgrey, I like one anywhere!
My bedroom in TN had 2 glass walls looking out into the forest and the 3rd wall was a fireplace. The 4th wall was the connecting wall to the bathroom. I loved that room and hardly wanted to leave it!!

I put him to bed around 10-10:30 last night and he stayed. Usually he is the last one up around here. And one of the first ones awake. It catches up to him once in a while though. I don't want him to fall into a very bad sleeping pattern though so decided to roust him. He just helped Jonni unload a wheelbarrow full of wood for the wood stove in his room.

I always tell Maxi not to cuss because it becomes a habit and then will slip out when you don't want it to and you embarass yourself! 'Course, his father tells him cussing is just fine. So, Maxi asks my permission when he wants to use a swear.

Maxi's little brother DJ at 7, has a mastery of cussing! He gets in troouble at school all the time for using mild explecatives. We tell the school they should be grateful he doesn't use his full vocabulary! His father taught him all the most outrageous things it is possible to say when he was quite small, so just a "damn" from him is pretty tame.

Our lemon bars are cooling and our pumpkin bread is baking.
Maxi is taking a load of home made treats to his dad's. He is taking a large amount of Muddy Buddies, the lemon bars and one loaf of the bread. He is so pleased!! I am thinking of sending the Gingerbread house kit along with him as well so the boys can work on it together.
I crocheted gifts for them so he is taking quite a bit over when he goes.
This is a great way to be starting the New Year with so much industry and happiness!

i'm trying to get scott to wake up so we can figure out dinner. neither of us felt like going to the grocery store, so i haven't cooked anything today except a can of cinnamon rolls!
Afternoon all, I slept in this morning- till 7 - Mom was up but stayed in her room till I got up... so got her meds and breakast.. gathered the laundry- and sat down on the couch and fell asleep for 3 hours... guess I needed to catch up too... feel halfway okay now... just started laundry too... We went and got Chinese food last night- they must have been little business cause she really loaded us up with food- have enough for at least 8 meals- nice! Warmed up today too... going to be warmer tomorrow too- so will enjoy while we can- Joe will be fixing the fence in back that fell down .. at least the weather will cooperate for that chore and taking down the Christmas lights from the house-- he put all the stuff away yesterday in the basement too... and I am in the process of putting all the stuff back in place in the living room.. washed it all... it is drying now. Well off to change loads and see if I can scan a few more pics in ... got new frames so want to print out a few pics the right sizes. Nana
We sampled one of the loaves of Diane's pumpkin bread and it is YUMMY! I usually dislike it, but this is great! Maxi is very pleased to be taking it to his family, too.
I'm off for a time now because Maxi wants to access his Word document and work on his short story.

nana, i'm glad you got to rest. i've been resting most of today. i'm just being quiet, almost lazy. ok, all the way lazy! but you stay so busy, you've earned it.
