I discovered this excellent area for Winter birds across the street from my house this week, so went there this morning to get some pictures. Here are my best pictures of a Yellow-Rumped Warbler affectionately called a "Butter Butt" by birders. ![[Linked Image]](http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a327/Thornius/Yellow-RumpedWarbler01-2.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a327/Thornius/Yellow-RumpedWarbler04.jpg)

is that where the waxwings are living? Is it a park or field or nature reserve? That's where the waxwings are living, although they weren't there today. Waxwings stay in TIGHT large flocks and move together, staying in one area until they strip ALL the available food. Then they move on to the next food source. Right now they are feeding on Hackberries and the berries from Poison Ivy plants. In a couple of months they'l start stripping the Holly trees and bushes. Then, in May, they go after the Mulberries. THAT'S when they hit MY yard. I have FOUR Mulberry trees and bushes that are usually packed with berries (and Waxwings) in May. I get my BEST Waxwing pictures then. It's a brushy, large tree filled, fence row, around a large parking lot.

Thorn, don't get confused and call your mrs. butter butt. You may be living in the field with the waxwings.
