Glenda's ( jayhawk my sister's) daughter,, needs your earnest prayers right now,,,,,, I'm taking a risk that My sister may be upset with me posting this., But Prayer has proven to win over illnesses this past year,, even tho none of you know my niece and she is a stranger to you all,, God Knows her well. Some of you have met Glenda and knows she has a beautiful spirit She( Jolene) has been given a 10 to 30% chance to live,,and has been sedated as of today as she hasn't been sleeping at all. She has been fighting Hodkins Lymphoma for a while now,and has had two stem cell transplants. Her liver is the biggest problem right now, Please Pray for her Now. Jolene has the best sense of Humor and could always make me laugh, and her humor has gotten her through the toughest of times I have this on my MYSPACE page,, " My Hero is My Niece Jolene, She has undergone so many treatments month after month after month following surgery's for her illness yet remains positive, and confident, and her sense of Humor never fails to give us all laughs and see's her through her worse days . I'm so awed by her courage and determination for this to not get the best of her,, I love you Jolene,, you were given 'that Special Star' when you were born, and it shines bright everyday with you! Big Hugs to you, You are a Super Woman! May Angels always bring you laughter and as you bring us Joy I pray God brings you healing! "

i'm sorry to hear about the problems your niece is having, diane. i will light a candle and keep her in my prayers - and her parents and you and the rest of the family.
Diane... while you know that I don't pray "per se", I am holding special thoughts and wishes that Jolene is as peaceful as can be during this most difficult time. I'm also wishing for strength for Glenda and her family (including you!), as they go through these next days.

I am living proof for in 1971 I was in a car accident so sever that I was given only a 10% chance of living and that was in a vegetable state. However I had a whole town praying for me and today even the Doctors say that I am a living miracle. But also know that this world is getting very very ugly and like we do when we plant a beautiful garden we some times like to pluck the loveliest flower in the garden to bring into our home where we can enjoy the sight of it every day at all times. Well, i believe that our creator does the same and sometimes he finds some humans to be the loveliest in his garden of life and decides to spare them all the problems in the garden and plucks them to come and bring light, joy and beauty into his home. From your description your niece is a sweet and lovely human and I am sure God will show his favor towards her in what ever he feels will be the best for her.
My next house will have no kitchen - just vending machines and a large trash can.

I pray for her and her family. Cancer is a horrid thing. I just lost my Dad to it on Monday the 29 of December at 4:30PM. Esophagus Cancers got to be the worst. The cancer stops them from being able to swallow food so they slowly starve and dehydrate. He passed in my home at age 73. He was 225lbs. 5 months ago and he was at 100 when he died. I will send up may heart with each prayer, you have my every prayer to get her through. God help you all through this.

OH MY sweet goodness---- While I am so very sorry for Glenda, her husband, you, and of course all the rest of your family----I am glad that Jolene's suffering is at an end--and that she is in a far better place.

OMG, I am so sorry for you and you have my heart felt prayers. God bless all of you for being strong. Like I said Cancer is a HORRID thing and it seems to take the very best people we have. Know that she is in a wonderful place now as is Von. We morn because we loved them so and we will be missing them foe a very long time. Stay close and share lots of hugs.

Diane I am so sorry to hear Jolene was promoted into Gods Kingdom over night. Prayers of comfort for Glenda and her family and you and all your family. Just know she is out of pain now and walking on clouds in heaven. Just think now she is with all her ancestors and looking down on her friends and family still confined to this level, she will be watching over all of you.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JOLENE! [/size]Please don't think that I am trying to be mean or cruel or anything by saying that but it is simply that I believe that when we die in this world we are BORN into a new and better one. I say this because I myself have died and felt so cheated that I had to return but then I realized that there was still things that I needed to learn before I can move on or be reborn. I have often told people that it is a shame that we can not be born old and grow younger so that by the time we are in our 30s', 20s', and teens we have the knowledge not to miss use our healthy bodies. Well I feel that when we are born into our new lives that is sort of what it is like. I didn't know Jolene of course but I am willing to bet that she was a very sweet, loving, compassionate person. I have noticed that those who leave us young seem to be far more advanced in those abilities and they seem to have grown up and have so much more wisdom than those of us even older in years than them. In other words they have grown and learned what they need to know for a better life in a much shorter time so they have earned their right to move on. And although it hurts us to have to see them go we should be happy for them and rejoice in the fact that they have achieved the highest honor and that although time seems long for us it will seem only like a blink of the eye in time for them before we can join them. So that is why I say Happy Birthday to her. Although it may be the day of loss for all those who knew and loved her it is a glorious new day of Birth for her.

Glenda and Diane - I am so sorry for all of you, on the loss of such a wonderful loved one. Diane speaks so very highly of Jolene - her kindness, her terrific sense of humor, her all-around friendliness. I'm so glad that she was able to touch all your lives in such a beautiful way. I'm sure you will all hold on to those wonderful attributes while you keep her dear to your hearts.
Diane and Glenda, I am so sorry to hear this news, I know too that there are no words that can fill the empty void that you feel. I am thinking of you all, and praying that you find strength and peace at this difficult time. GOD BLESS.
We were given two hands to hold, two eyes to see, two ears to listen & two legs to walk. But why were we given only one heart? The other heart was given to another for us to find.

One of my daughter's nurses told me she was praying for Jolene and was very happy when I told her told her that people across the country were praying for her. Your concern and prayers have meant a lot to me and my family.
My daughter's only goal written on the whiteboard in her room was "to go home". And she has.
This new year will be hard for my family but it helps to know we have love and support here on the Garden Forum.
