Those are cute photos but I could just imagine if that were either of my Chihuahuas they would require down filled complete ski suits! Well no my tea cup would require something to keep her from simply getting lost in that snow. She is so tiny that she would just sink and not be seen again until spring.

My next house will have no kitchen - just vending machines and a large trash can.
and for the record, petsmart and/or petco both sell boots for dogs. real, leather, boots. my grand puppies had a pair.
Hey Jiffy, don't give me that....You are ready for those white sandy beaches yourself. You told me so! Ha Ha Just waiting for you to come on down also!!

Warm has nothing to do with it! Those pina colada's just taste better with the smell of the Gulf whipping across while sipping or even beer with the white sands, salty sea smell, and Jimmy Buffett in the back ground!

She doesn't mind the snow but the cold is what gets her! If I open the door to let her out and she feels the bitter cold air she will turn around and run and hide. I have to make her go out eventually. She doesn't care for the snow in the beginning of winter but now she is used to it.

I don't have a Petco or Petsmart anywhere around here. That's not fair!!!!! I need doggy stuff.
I have a picture somewhere of my old dog scamp. He was pretty small....bigger than Libby, but not a large dog at all. Well I threw him out in 3 feet of snow and he just totally disappeared. He LOVED it though, he absolutely loved going out and playing in the snow.

Awwww...that is so sweet...it reminds me of my little chihuahua I had (she lived to be 20something years old). She always wore one of her sweaters when it was cold.
I have to admit that it is kinda fun to dress her up.

When I lived back east in Rochester, NY and thereabouts, I had a beagle named Joker. She adored snow short hair and all; no clothes or boots. I would have to drag her in the house. We had a good 5 feet of snow just in my front yard and she would go tunneling in it. I would have to find her.

Seriously?? Bummer!! Our Wal-Mart always has a lot of them. We have a pet store here too that always has a whole aisle of them. They are usually more expensive though so I only buy them from there if I find them on clearance.
Jessica, even though Loz has winters, they are nothing like Michigan's. In Ca you can find cute little clothes for little short haired dogs but the larger heavy duty ones are hard to come by. Our stores don't order them because there is less of a market for them. I do wish that they would order more plants types to compensate. I might not be able to dress my doggy well, but I can plant all year long here.

Oh I know she has winter. I was really kidding but didn't know if Wal-Mart's around the country carry different items based on your area.
I was totally bummed out. The couple sweaters they had were hanging on the end of the aisle.....and they were teeny tiny. I never thought about Walmarts having dog clothes suitable for your areas....I guess that makes sense.....
They may just be out because the people buying for the dog gifts for the holidays, Loz. You may have to wait until next fall before something suitable shows up in wm. Meanwhile, Does Athena have any outgrown clothing? Butt has sported some nifty sweaters that once belonged to my kids. Just maybe stay away from the pink for Mark's sensibilities.

I have found that yard sales and thrift stores are great places to get used kids stuff that pets can now use. I also buy lots of Ones for when a pet has to have surgery anywhere on the body portion. You just cut a little place for the tail and snap them shut between the legs and the animals can't lick or pull out stitches with them on.
