Hi all,
Getting ready to hit the store for some new remotes for the DTV- easier to buy them from Best Buy then order them and wait- hubby is not a good person to wait... he is picking up Derek right now- kids are glad to be back to school too...
Carrie ended up going in on her day off yesterday to work till midnight and Joseph had a dentist appt so we fed the boys dinner and sent home dinner for Jon and Joseph too... today she is off so we are trying to get stuff done at home before I get boys again tomorrow.
I made a batch of pancakes for the freezer this morning too- Mom slept in till after 9 so I had lots of time to do it-- going to cook a batch of porkchops for dinner and the freezer tonit for us too- that is the extent of my planning today..

Wow, you need some of my squirrels! I can't grow much of anything but these squirrels here seem to plant me some really nice Sunflower beds oh and corn also. They even plant it so that the largest sunflowers on the back rows, mediums in the middle and small ones on the front. That is one reason that I am happy to feed them the seeds so that they can replant them for me.

My next house will have no kitchen - just vending machines and a large trash can.

Memosa, I think he meant sunshowers - when it rains and the sun is out.

We're having unbelievable winds right now. Part of the top of the barn is gone. Rain too.

Well, I made it okay to and fro in the storm. Here on the immediate coast we are having a messy mix of snow, sleet, and freezing rain.... just a tad further inland they are having all snow.

I really thought I would get home on time today. My treatment went well for the first time in a while. There were NO complications or staff mistakes that delayed my leaving. I walked out the door at 4 on the dot, totally delighted!

Then my driver started yaking on her cell phone, flirting with a handsome guy she knows (she is married, btw) and TOTALLY went the wrong way! I noticed out the rear window of the stretcher van that we were on some sort of ordinary side street when we should have been getting on the turnpike!

So, I got home at 5. She thought it was funny. I didn't. So she stopped at Dunkin Donuts and grabbed me a coffee as a booby prize for her totally fouling up the ride home. Good coffee. She is a nice chick and we always have a good time when she is driving me. I will just have to remember to encourage her not to yak on the phone while she is driving! For heaven's sake, if she got distracted enough, who knows where we'd end up?! lol

Gee I hate coming home and not having Maxi here. I gotta find us a good place to live soon!

It would make me very nervous riding with someone that was doing so much yacking on the cell phone she went the wrong way. glad you made it home safe.
I had a round about drive home today as well. my boss asked 'you mind if we go into town after work today. I just have to grab one thing from walmart'. well the one thing turned into eating lunch, walmart, target, and swinging by to pick up her motorcycle from the shop. ugh! I'm glad to be home.

Merme, are you looking to move again? Isn't this the place where you have the neat porch or was it the last place?

Gee Cricket your homeward bound adventures would have EXHAUSTED me! I bet you are glad to be home!!!

I'm sleepy but do not want to lay down at 7 PM or I'll be up all night! lol

I'm trying to crochet but it is slow going when I am this sleepyheaded. I keep counting and re-counting my work although it is fine! The afghan is about 60 inches wide and I only have it just over 2 feet deep so far. I was hoping to finish it by Friday, but I doubt I will. I started it Tuesday afternoon but it takes time to go back & forth across 60 inches, counting counting counting.

I'm really thirsty tonight but I'm feel almost too lazy to press some coffee or dig out the ice for soda. lol So here I sit, wishing I had something good to drink.

"If wishes were horses, beggars would ride" is what my mom used to tell me.

Yes, Sheri, this is the place w/ the neat porch.

The problem is that it isn't accessible. I have several stairs to climb to get in. Also, it is in a location that is just slightly too far off the beaten path, making it tough for family & friends to get here as needed. If I lived closer to Maxi's dad, then the child's life wouldn't go into upheaval when I am hospitalized. He could stay in the same school & maintain normalcy.

well, with knitting if you get a big fur ball caught in your throat you could use the needles to dig it out like chop sticks. lol

Merme, those slippers you make, the ones you posted the instructions for a while back....they can easily be made with just one skien of yarn, right?
I bought 'pumpkin' color today instead of 'carrot' to finish up a blanket I'm making. touched I guess I got my veggies mixed up? tapfoot

Sheri, you are very kind. I know Maxi would have a blast at your place! And ohmygoodness, we'd talk our jaws off, you & me! lol

Crochetting tastes far better than knitting. Knitting is nice but very slow.

Which reminds me of Ogden Nash's old poem
"Candy is dandy
but liquour is quicker!"

Crochet is speediest of all.

Yup, easily! thumbup

I'm sorry I can not be specific in terms of amounts, but I made 15 pairs of them for Christmas gifts and did several in the same colors, just varying the cuffs.

oh, no need to be specific merme. I just wanted to make sure I could find some use for that one odd colored skein. I can't see taking something back to the store that only cost 2.50.

Now I am PSCYHED!

I just did a chore that proves how much stronger I am.

I stood up and changed a light bulb in the kitchen chandelier!

That meant standing, balancing, raising both arms above my head at the same time, and demonstrating some endurance to get the job done!

YAY!

"Ain't no stopping her now..."

I didn't mean to mislead. I did NOT climb into a chair to change the bulb. Our chandalier hangs down over the dining table and is low enough to reach without climbing.

I would never have been able to climb up onto anything high like a chair.

Carol I am glad you are doing well. Drink lots of clear fluids to finish clearing your chest.

Sheri sometimes Maxi will write "I believe I can fly" on a post-it note and stick it on my back sneakily. He is funny.

Well since I still can't motivate for pressing fresh coffee or digging out the ice, I am opting for some hot tea in the microwave!

well, that sure sounds better than a crochetted fur ball!

I'm not sure if pumpkin is a veggie or not. I know it's a type of gord though, right. well, I do know one thing for sure. the color pumpkin is not nearly as pretty as the color carrot! who would-ve-thunk-it?

Cricket pumpkin is a fruit because the seeds are in the fleshy part we eat. Same with tomatoes, squash, etc.

Carrots, lettuce, radishes and such things are vegetables because they do not have seeds in the fleshy part we eat.
