I've got an MP3 Player that I've had for several years, maybe 2. All of a sudden my computer doesn't recognize it. I tried to download some music onto it from a CD and when I plug it into the USB port on the tower nothing happens. Any ideas?

You might try upgrading the drivers from the manufacturers website...

Another option is to check the "Device Manager" when it's plugged in and see if there are any errors...

To check the device manager in Windows XP:
1. Open "My Computer"
2. Click "Change a Setting" from the left side navigation menu
3. Click "System" (If you don't see "system" you're viewing the control panel outside of "Classic" mode, change to "Classic" mode from the left navigation panel then redo this step)
4. Under the "Hardware" tab, select "Device Manager"
5. Look for any !'s with a yellow circle, this will indicate an error.

If you see any errors, double click the item, and write down what the dialog box says. Likely if theres a conflict, it'd be solved by reinstalling the driver as mentioned above.
