I have a house plant that is very unusual. It is a vine that is light lime green in color and kinda of looks like a succulent, but it has these pods that grow out from the vine. The plant itself is growing out of a conch shell about 2" wide. The plant has a deep pink flower that blooms at times. Right now my plant hangs from a wire in the window and it now has four pods. I have no idea what type of plant this is or the name??????????? Can anyone help me on this???

Thanks!!!!!!
Hope to hear from someone!!!

Welcome, AliceM. I am far from a houseplant expert. I hope someone will come along with an answer for you soon. It sounds like a lovely plant though. And I love the 'pot' it is in.
Can you describe the leaf shape a little. Are they heart shaped? or longer and thinner? Do they grow opposite each other on the stem or alternate (like one and an inch or two up another)? Are they shiny, dull, fuzzy?
You will get answers, I think.

I love the sweet scents wafting in the breeze. I stop to admire the vibrant colors of all living things. And people think me odd. Then ODD I am!!!

hmm, i thought i'd responded to this.

anyhoo, sounds like some kind of bromiliad to me. 'air plants' are usually sold set in shells and some of the varieties have quite unusual flower spikes.

can you post a pic of it?? that would really make it easier for us to id for you!

I love that idea of growing things out of a conch shell. I have a big one that Jeff found.

(Didn't save all those ones I used to collect as a kid)

I might try something with that thing. Maybe some sedum.
