Hi everybody ~ I'll spruce up a new CH setting for us. Let's see... if we want sun, then...

what's going on in your world today, merme?
I'm home with my sick son today. fever, headache, stuffed nose - the works. He's been sleeping for about two hours now. I'm reading.

... it is a winding, sandy path through the grove of palm and orange trees and bouganvilla. But if you look to your right you will see the sunlight glittering on the pale blue ocean water.

Keep walking until you come up to the veranda. See all the comfy Adirondack chairs with all the low tables in-between? There are plenty for all of us situated nicely under the big bamboo ceiling fans. The billowing netting at the porch's ends filter the light while allowing the breeze. Just make yourself at home...

in a few minutes the waiters will be along to take your drink orders. Choose anything you want -- the tab is on me!

Plan on sitting and visiting a while... we'll keep the refreshments coming.

My girl cancelled for today so my plans changed. I'm doing all the chores myself and taking breaks to crochet. I want to finish this beautiful pillow I made to go with the afghan for Christine. I'm nearly done.

I skipped breakfast today so now I gotta think of something sensible to eat.

I'm sorry to hear your son is sick.

watch out merme! too much crochet and you'll be trying to change lightbulbs and such! not to mention flirting with those handsome young waiters.

I am one mean person and I don't think you should finish that for Christine. You are too nice. "sometimes" to quote your favorite son.

You crack me up, Sheri! You are not a Big Blue Meanie, say what you will.

And yes, I do have a favorite son, don't I?!

My dietician told me I'm allowed to have peanut butter again (with restraint!) and so today I am celebrating by having peanut butter toast for lunch. I love the stuff and haven't been allowed to have it for a long time.

I love peanut butter toast and coffee.

That is great that you can have something again that you enjoy so much!

I had an egg salad sandwich for lunch. I'm sure our entire office now smells like eggs. lol

I too have a favorite son, it is usually the one that needs the most love and attention at that moment. Also similarly have a favorite daughter.
I am taking John in to the hospital. I'm thinking this will be his last trip, probably. I may or may not be bringing him home but even if I do he probably will not be going in again. Wish me strength.

Oh, and congrats on the peanut butter, Merme. I am glad it was added to your list in moderation. Any other foods added too?

Yeah I drove 40 miles this morning. Took me almost an hour and half to get here. Traffic was slow and the roads were slick. I have a lead foot most of the time but not when the roads are icy. I am the complete opposite. I am a complete chicken s#$@!!

Peanut butter was the only new addition.

My phosphorus is elevated again and I got yelled at! lol

Dialysis can't get rid of phosphorus or potassium 'coz they are too small for the filtering process. So I'm SUPPOSED to eat 3 TUMS at each meal & snack so the calcium in it can bind with the phosphorus and eliminate it that way. Trouble is, I forget!

So I put the TUMS on my kitchen table to remind myself. Too much phoshorus messes up the blood vessels and too much potassium is bad for the heart, so I have to pay attention when they are hollering at me.

Merme *chewing TUMS she hates*

I don't mind TUMS. I really don't. I don't eat them like candy or anything but when I needs some it doesn't bother me to chew them up. I buy the fruit flavored ones.

When ever John is ready. I bathed him and dressed him (first time he needed that help). I packed up what I could and everything is waiting on him gathering the strength to be ready. I have his chair by the bed (he has always managed to walk to the car before although I use the chair in the long trips around the hosp)and oxygen in the van.
I got Ted dressed, twice. It took so long to get ready that he changed back into his comfy clothes. He is staying dressed now.
We have been ready for an hour and a half waiting. I'm thinking John just wants to go check out all of the pretty nurses one more time.

I didn't mean to make this a prayer request thread. I am really getting annoyed with him I decided to micro wave something to eat (Merme PB toast did that) and he said OK, I'm ready. rolz I am eating. I haven't yet today. He can wait a wee bit longer to see the cute nurses.

Merme, I have been sitting here eating Jiff peanut butter out of the jar with a spoon. Phosphorus isn't even listed as an ingredient but neither is vitamin E or niacin

I don't eat early. John is the one who wants to go. My vote and the oncology doc's was to let go. Hospice nurse was here and oncology nurse was on the phone and they decided Er between them (including John).
I am leaving now, I think.

HEY! I wish y'all could see this pillow I'm nearly finished with; it is SO pretty!

I used all four of the purples in it.

I used the palest orchid to make a group of popcorn stitches in the center that resemble a bunch of flowers and surrounded them with two rows of the varigated to look like leaves/greens. The rest of the pillow is in the medium orchid and I used a special stitch that gives it a very handsome, highly textured surface. Then I went around the outside edge with the dark orchid before I started crocheting the lacy edging with the pale and medium orchids. It is 20 x 20.

I may have to make one for myself in colors suitable for our living room!
