Hope you guys can see this...I took pictures every day until all four buds on the scape opened. I put them in the album on facebook. This is a 'public link' meaning you don't need a facebook account to see them.

the album will keep going if you click the 'next' at the upper right corner of the pictures of if you click on the picture

When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it. If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant. Mary Ann LaPensee

Yes, I could see it just fine, Kenny. That is a nicely done progression for your amaryllis blooms. And very pretty blooms too.

the scape with the flowers on top was about a foot and a bit (not including the bulb).

I forgot to keep turning the pot so the scape grew to one side. When I turned it 180* to try to get it growing straight (in the opposite direction) i guess it wasn't able to stretch on one side so a red patch appeared (damaged tissue on amaryllis appears red). Guess turning the pot 180* made the scape stretch too much.

GOOD NEWS: I think it's going to bloom a second time! I see the top of a scape pushing out in the middle of the small leaves that it put out!

the second scape is blooming now! what a nice coincidence: the first flowers opened on Christmas day and now the second set have opened on Valentines! This time I have six buds atop a 3' scape. I've never had such luck with amaryllis before!
