I thought it might be a finch but the fullness of the body leans me towards a warbler???

where is Thornius when you need help. Probably out in the trees scaring the birds.

Thornius is dead. I am his evil, LIAR-twin, Thronius. Your bird is a Warbler but NOT a willow Warbler. It is a Yellow-Rumped Warbler or Butter Butt as my dearly-departed- sickeningly-sweet brother referred to them.

I remember butter butt. You posted him a while back. Angel's bird doesn't look like he has a butter butt though. I will have to say after all I've eaten today that I have a butter butt.

She didn't show his rump but that's what he is. The yellow shoulder and breast patches are another field mark in WINTER of the Yellow-Rumped (Butter-Butt) Warbler. Now, Google up Yellow-Rumped Warbler, BREEDING Plumage, and see how BEAUTIFUL they are in spring and Summer.

I will have to do that when I get home Thorius because maybe it's this computer but the breeding plumage looks much like Diane's bird.
